These light bulbs have a great look to them. They emit a pleasant glow, but not enough light to see by. So, if you're looking for a light bulb to light up a passageway or a room for pretty much any task, this bulb isn't going to cut it. Sorry, but I have to be honest: you won't be able to read with them on, and you won't be able to see much with them on, but if you just want to set a mood, this bulb will do just that! It gives off a lovely warm glow, but it's not a bulb I'd recommend for lighting any room. I put this in a lamp in my living room and find it to be largely ineffective as a light source. It might be better suited to use as a night light in the bedroom or in an area where you don't need a light but want the effect of one. It's almost as if the light was coming from a candle.
I really wanted to like these bulbs because they looked so good. However, after a month of use as a desk lamp, it had blackened to the point where I was afraid it would burn out soon, so I put it away. After that, I noticed that a second one, which I used for a few hours to test a lamp, had a slight yellow tint (see attached image for reference). Is this the case with all of these bulbs, or did I just get a bad batch? Is there any way to get a replacement from the vendor? They appeared to provide excellent customer service.
That said, I was very excited to replace the harsh LED light of the old bulbs (similar style) in my new kitchen ceiling lighting fixture with a more subtle LED light. When the third bulb was screwed in, the entire glass part became detached from the metal screw in part and was impossible to remove! Because the metal is soft, it simply bends when I try to move it. I'm now stuck and need to hire an electrician to remove the part; however, because I opened the box after the 30-day return period had passed, I'm unable to return the bulbs or receive a refund. additionally, an electrician or handyman will be required to be paid. Yes, I tried hard on my own to get rid of it. Because I couldn't find a way to privately contact Hudson, I'm writing this review. Oh, and one more thing. It should only be used for ambient lighting and not for complete illumination. It was still too dull with three bulbs lit, and I doubt the addition of a fourth bulb would make much of a difference, so I need a stronger dimmable bulb, as will you if used in a work area. When I'm at work, I'd like it to be bright, but when I'm not, I'd like it to be.
They're incredibly bright, and they look fantastic. They have an Amber hue to them, not white or yellow like other bulbs, but they are bright and provide a good amount of light, as others have stated. Unfortunately, after only a few hours of use, one of the bulbs burned out. When I contacted the seller (Hudson Lighting), they were very quick to send me a replacement for the broken bulb. I will definitely order these bulbs from this company again because of the excellent product and excellent customer service!.
Bulbs were exactly what I had hoped for. Wire cage Edison bulbs with a warm glow are ideal for mood wall sconces. Individual boxes in internal plastic cases arrived undamaged, packaged four to a larger box, and then packed in an Amazon box with additional air bubble cushioning.
UPDATE: This company provides excellent customer service, and the bulbs appear to be suitable for use in enclosed fixtures, indicating that the problem was not caused by the user, but rather by a defect in the bulbs. They're going to take their place in my place. They will undoubtedly become my primary source for Edison bulbs, and I will enthusiastically recommend them to friends. ) A very pleased client! These are fantastic! br>br> They're lovely lights with a nice warm glow to them. Three of them turned black right away, but I believe it was my fault; I believe they became too hot in some of the light covers I had them in. Error on the part of the user At the very least, they're attractive enough to hang without cage light covers until I can get some. In the future, I intend to order more bulbs!.
It took me a while to get around to using these because we're in the middle of redoing a house we bought, and non-essential rooms, like formal dining rooms (which I've turned into a more practical space that will be used more than three days a year), are taking a long time. br>br>I wasn't sold on anything where the bulbs could be seen; I understand Edison bulbs are popular, but for how long? I didn't want to be forced to replace a fixture in a few years in order to sell the house. br>br>Then I discovered the fixtures that I adored, and the bulbs were visible, which meant I needed Edison bulbs. I wanted both fixtures to match because they are in the same general area, and the dining room fixture is on a dimmer switch, so the bulbs had to be able to dim as well. br>br>I bought these bulbs for both fixtures; the one above the front door does not dim, but it holds three bulbs and is bright enough to see when you walk in at night. The rest are in the dining room; I've tested the dimmer and it works fine, but when I use it myself, I leave the light on full brightness. I have canned lighting in that room as well, but I haven't had to use it very often, so I consider these a win.
These were ideal for a project I was working on at the time. They're a lot brighter than the other incandescent bulbs I bought, and they're almost as bright as LEDs. For some, this may be beneficial, while for others, it may be detrimental. They were well-packaged and feature a lovely filament design - br>br> When I sacrifice LED efficiency for the beauty of incandescent bulbs, I need something like this. br>br>*Reduced to 2 stars because they get VERY hot and make an odd humming/buzzing noise; they're still pretty, but I'll be replacing them with a different type as soon as I can. I was outside for about 2 hours doing yard work, and when I returned inside, I could hear them buzzing in the next room. The other incandescent Edison bulbs I have installed in the same fixture are not buzzing and are not getting near as hot as these and they are 60% dimmed.
