Even when I have a light load, I use all six balls. It appears to keep the clothes sufficiently separated so that they dry as quickly as possible.

Only in the dryer do I use them, and I keep them there. They're supposed to speed up the drying process (and some even help with static reduction). After I take out the laundry, I've never noticed the dryer balls are wet.

In the winter, the static in our homes is insane because I live in a very dry, arid part of West Texas. I was about to give up and go back to dryer sheets after trying three other sets of dryer balls, when I came across these adorable balls. Other dryer ball manufacturers claim to have static-free dryer loads, but these balls actually deliver. I was so taken with them that I went back to this page to order them for my daughters and daughter-in-law.
These dryer balls are fantastic! The more you use them, the better they'll work. Depending on the size of the load, I always use at least a half dozen or more per dryer load. Depending on the color of the load that I'm drying, I have a variety of colors and sizes. They get rid of static cling, catch animal hair, speed up drying, and soften clothes all at the same time! You can't go wrong with cotton, because it's reusable and doesn't contain any chemicals. I strongly advise you to purchase these dryer balls. We are no longer using anything else. I've read that they don't prevent static cling; however, I've also read that they do. It's possible that they aren't utilizing them to their full potential. I recommend having at least a dozen of these on hand, with more dryer balls added as needed depending on the size of the dryer load. br>br>4/29/19 UPDATE: I'd like to add an addendum to my earlier praise for these in terms of eliminating static cling. When I first wrote my review, I had only used these balls to dry our winter cotton items. Now that Spring has arrived, I took all of our Jams World tops out of storage and washed them. These balls do not help with static cling when used with acrylic fabrics [which all Jams World cloths are]. They still soften and dry clothes quickly, but they don't do as well at removing cling. That will almost certainly necessitate the addition of a dryer sheet.
These dryer balls are my absolute favorite! br>Previously, I had purchased a different bag of wool dryer balls from Amazon, which worked OK but not great. br>After reading about dryer balls in a Buzzfeed article, I decided to give them another shot, and I'm glad I did. These are incredible! br> br>It's a lot better than the other random ones I bought before. They not only remove static cling, but they also make the clothes softer and wrinkle-free. br>Until I bought these, I thought dryer balls were a bit of a gimmick, but they actually work and are adorable to boot!.
It's so much fun chasing them after they fall out of the dryer. It's no longer necessary to clean up pet hair. To be honest, I don't think so. I wish it were, but the amount of white kitty hair I normally get has significantly decreased, and the balls are completely covered! So I wash the sheets last, and everything ends up in the lint trap. When the last load is finally done, the lint trap looks like a great hairy white fluffy blanket!.
One of my neighbors suffers from severe odor allergies, so I ordered these. I wasn't sure if they'd work or if I'd just squandered my money. It turned out that I didn't have anything to be concerned about! Not only did they perform admirably, but I am pleased with everything they have accomplished. I haven't shed or linted in a long time. They stay fresh for a long time, and I feel even better knowing that I'm not using any chemicals or plastic (as many dryer sheets are).
I used to use dryer sheets all the time until I read an article that said they take a long time to decompose and are bad for the environment. It recommended using dryer balls and scenting them with a few drops of essential oil. It's a good thing I bought these dryer balls! I've noticed that the clothes dry faster, have less static, and smell wonderful (thanks to the addition of a few drops of lavender).
shirts. There WAS black, to be sure. They were covered in grey fuzz as a result of these things. It took me ten minutes to clean each shirt with a lint roller.
It's fantastic! It is unscented and does not leave a residue in the dryer. Our dryer's life has been prolonged as a result of these. We used to have to fix/repair it every 6 months or so before, but now we've been using the wool dryer balls for a year with no problems, and they allow the clothes to dry much faster than dryer sheets.
