Some workers wear masks because they are allergic to wool, not because of chemicals, which they do not use.
I own three large shedders - I also have a problem with hair getting all over my clothes. It certainly aids the situation. I believe there is also a dryer maid ball. The only thing I can say about these is that they're pretty cool. As soon as I remove my clothes, my dogs grab them. They are, however, fantastic and adorable. I even gave one to my mother, who enjoys them as well.
Handmade in Nepal, Friendsheep Eco Dryer Balls are a great way to help the environment. They are needle felted for a fair wage by women from Kathmandu's Himalayan Valley's underprivileged communities.
Selected User Reviews For Friendsheep Wool Dryer Balls, Organic Fair Trade Reusable Fabric Softener, Extra Large, 6 Pack, Black Penguin - Cool Friends
They're cute, and they don't claim to do anything other than shorten drying times, which I'm sure they do. I only bought them because I'm a penguin fanatic who can't keep my hands off them.
. That being said, I have no regrets.
For years, I've been considering purchasing wool dryer balls. Now that I've done a few loads of laundry with this set, I'm ready to move on to the next one. I really wish I'd gone ahead and done it years ago! br>br>As I write this review, the Southwestern United States is being battered by Santa Ana winds that are strong, warm, and dry. Across California and Mexico, devastating fires are raging. Because it's so dry, chapstick fades in less than 30 minutes, and my oily skin absorbs a thick layer of castor oil overnight to keep me from feeling like a mummy. Because it's so dry, I can't drink enough water. br>br>As a result, I wasn't sure if now was the best time to give these dryer balls a chance. My expectations were nil, nil, nil. Surprisingly, these incredible penguins (I have the cutest penguins! ) came out on top, and I was blown away. br>br>We have a lot of static here, and our water is extremely hard. The clothes are staticky and rough when they come out of the dryer. Normally, I would use 5 dryer sheets per load to soften the clothes and prevent static, but when the weather is dry like this, we use both liquid softener and dryer sheets. As a result, despite what some may believe - She did, however, make use of a sheet. It's a ruse! Before moving on to these woolen balls, you'll have a better understanding of where our laundry begins. br>br>In the few loads I did this weekend, I used no liquid and a single sheet of these 6 balls to dry the clothes, and they came out softer than I've ever felt them, with no static. I'm walking around the house and noticing a lot of things. i'm not wearing socks - Every time I touch him or hug him, I startle him, but these loads of laundry were static-free! I'm blown away! Let's go over the advantages and disadvantages: br>br> Advantages: br>br> 1. br>br> This is a fantastic offer. $15- You'll have reusable balls for hundreds of dollars if you buy 20 of them. tens of thousands - a number of washing machines For the smallest, cheapest sheets, boxes of sheets are probably a few dollars per box! With these dryer balls, you'll quickly recoup your investment and begin saving money. Depending on the size of your family and the current weather - It may be quicker for some, but I'm confident that ours will be "paid off" in a few months at most. br>br>2. Exceptional work! If the weather we have out here in the southwestern desert allows me to see these results, Others, I'm sure, will be able to do away with the single sheet of softener without difficulty - In fact, I'm going to try it out myself very soon! (and I'll update my review accordingly)br>br>3. Enjoy yourself - Factor of being environmentally friendly: We all know that the less we buy single-use items, the less we buy stuff wrapped in packaging over and over, and the less we throw stuff away that won't decompose properly - the better. the better it will be for all of us. This stuff is reusable and comes from a natural source, and despite the fact that there was a small plastic wrapper on the package, I expect to use these chemical-free penguins for years. There are no fumes, no residue, less waste, fewer trips to the supermarket, and fewer online orders - It's a win-win situation for all parties involved. win- win. 4. br>br> This set includes a handy bag for storing the balls and keeping them dust-free in the laundry room. The garage is where we keep our laundry. Because we live in the country and have critters roaming around, our garage is frequently open and covered in red dust; this bag keeps things tidy in a place where we don't leave anything we don't want covered in red dirt for more than a few hours at most. This is very kind of you. 5. br>br> Allow me to put my essential oils to good use. I've grown to love my oils over the years, and I've managed to persuade the rest of the family to do so as well. We use it to repel insects, freshen carpets, and atomize it into the air for relaxation and invigoration, and it's a great idea to bring it into the laundry room as well. I put a drop of lavender oil on each ball, and it gives it a nice, natural scent. It appeals to me a great deal. 6. br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br> All right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all The fact that they're penguins is fantastic! I mostly wear dark colors because I don't want white lint on my dark work clothes, but I also like how cute they are. When you work long hours and commute for several hours each day, it's difficult to be productive. It's the little things that can make a big difference sometimes. Even if I'm doing a mundane task during my snippet of free time, seeing these penguins makes me smile, which is a nice perk. br>br>Contrary to popular belief, there are a number of disadvantages to using this product. br>br>Aside from hearing a muffled *bumpity bump bump* from the garage when these guys are bouncing around with the laundry, I haven't had any problems, but I'm very good about updating my reviews whenever I can. The only disadvantage I can think of right away is that, yes, you will typically pay around $20 up front vs. $4- The cost of a box of sheets is $8. That is a consideration for most of us because we all have budgets and bills to pay. br>br>So, bottom line: I'm sold on these guys! I'm excited to try NO dryer sheets (again, I'm using one of the 6 balls right now because of the weather), and I'm also inspired to try some more natural laundry soap. I'll update this review once I've tried more things and have a better idea of how these work in the long run. Also, keep in mind that I always update my reviews if something goes wrong. As a result, I definitely believe these guys are 110% worth a shot at saving you money, keeping your clothes clean and avoiding chemicals. Don't be afraid to try it! ) And best of luck! br>br>Another thing to keep in mind is that I usually use Aura Cacia and NOW essential oils, but I've been using Woolzies oils instead because they're less expensive and I figured they'd suffice for laundry. They have a pleasant odor, and I have been pleased thus far. The following are the two I've tried: .
But now that I have them and have used them several times, I can confidently say that they are well worth the money! Because they're a fair trade item, you'll be contributing to a good cause. I've noticed less static on our clothes, and having a pamphlet with instructions on how to use the balls is definitely helpful. I had no idea there was a problem with them over drying, which is what causes the static, so the information in the pamphlet that comes with the product is helpful. Also, the design I received was of penguins, which are adorable! I haven't noticed any dark color transfer from the dryer balls to my light colors, which is another plus for this product. If you're a skeptic like me, I highly recommend this brand!.
While the little faces on the balls add to the fun of using them, the real reason I chose them is that they are handcrafted in Nepal by underprivileged women for fair wages and in ethical working conditions. That, I believe, is critical. br>br>I got a penguin set and a sheep set. I've been using the sheep pattern and will be gifting the penguins. I think they're fantastic, and I'm extremely pleased with the quality and performance.
As stated, it cuts down on static and drying time. I was born and raised in the state of California. Clothing can suffer from a lot of static due to the dry climate. I was also fed up with my clothes clumping up in the dryer and one item getting wet while the rest of the load dried. static and dry This problem was almost completely solved thanks to these dryer balls. They'd also make a fantastic home-based business. a heartwarming present for almost anyone Even dudes are included. Advantages: br>br>
- Reduce drying time by a significant amount of time (probably 5-to-10 minutes). a regular load will take 10 minutes)br>- Over-the-air static was almost completely eliminated. -br>-br>-br>-br>-b Because it wicks moisture faster and fluffs everything, it may help clothes stay less wrinkled.
- PENGUINS, PENGUINS, PENGUINS PENGUINS PENGUINS PENGU br>br>Contrary to popular belief, there are a number of disadvantages to using this product.
- As you unload your laundry, they will become stuck inside your clothes or roll away. They want to live in a world where they are free.
- With a few thuds, they'll make the dryer a little louder, but it won't be a big deal. Perhaps 25 of the sound that a pair of shoes would make.
But I figured it was worth a shot. What could possibly go wrong? I return them because they do not work. I could have gotten a dryer ball set for less money, but my wife is a penguin fanatic. So I reasoned that this would appeal to her on a visual level. Regardless, we put them to the test as soon as we got them. That day, they were used to dry three loads of laundry. Our clothes were fully dried and a little more fluffed, and the dryer time was a little shorter. After the dryer was finished, we used to get some cool spots and had to move the clothes around and dry them for a little longer. They tossed the clothes around in the dryer with the dryer ball, which allowed them to dry completely and quickly. They were used on our beddings again nearly a week later. As advertised, it worked perfectly. I've only had them for a few weeks and have already done about 8 loads of laundry with them. So far, everything has gone well. For the time being, I won't say much more.
Yes, the dryer balls make a slight noise as they are tossed around in the dryer, but it is nothing compared to the volume of the plastic ones. I also like how I can use my favorite essential oils to give my laundry a fresh scent that isn't too strong or overpowering. While I am aware that there are many other brands on the market that are just as good and possibly less expensive, I appreciate that Friendsheep is assisting in the creation of jobs for Nepalese women and others. This is a brand that I strongly recommend!.
