Cleaning with it has proven to be very effective. But "odor" is something I'm not sure about. I would say it does if the odor is caused by whatever is in the drain.
The product is made up of solid crystals that are poured down a drain and then flushed with hot water. It produces fumes as well. You don't want to drop the crystals into a pool of water.
Although this product works well in sinks and tubs, I don't believe it is designed for large drains. I believe you will require the assistance of a snake.
I'm afraid I can't answer "is it safe," but how much of the product did you use the first time and how long did you wait for it to work? I put less than the recommended amount in the drain the last time I used it and waited - about 12- The drain had been cleared for 14 hours. Then you must consider what the actual issue with your pipes is, and which "pipes" are involved. Is this a drain inside the house or outside? If the problem is outside, you should suspect that the pipe is broken and that tree roots are the source of the issue.

At first, it was a little frightening; it looked like a volcano was erupting. After that, it began to drain freely! br>I purchased a 2 pound container. I put everything in the three drains; To unclog a slow drain, one cup is required. After that, it says to use 1/2 cup once a month to keep things in check. Now I'm going to place a new order! Whoo Hoo! br>I suppose I've never lived in one house long enough to witness this, but it happened. We noticed that the bathroom sink we use the most was draining slower. slower. I tried Drano, but it didn't work for me. PTL I.
I had a clog in the bathroom sink drain that was about 10' long. I've been able to improve the flow a little with a variety of methods, but it's never been completely cleared. If the water was left running for longer than 30 seconds, the bowl would begin to fill. I've used a snake tool, Drano Super Strength, Plunger, Pressure, boiling water, and baking soda, among other things. Nothing worked (vinegar, etc. ). I was hesitant to use Insta-gram because of my lack of experience with the platform. Flo, but it immediately cleared the drain; just follow the directions and you'll be fine. I wish I'd known about this product a long time ago.

So when I saw it for a reasonable price, I jumped at the chance. The version I received in this order, however, was not satisfactory. The seal was already partially broken when I removed the cap. Until I looked inside, I didn't give it much thought. The crystallized form of flo is the most common. The bottle I received, on the other hand, resembled sand with a few crystals. It appeared as if it had been shaken in a paint mixer. Until I poured it down the drain, I didn't think it would be a big deal. When you add hot water to Insta-Pot, it usually takes a few minutes to reach the desired temperature. The pipes are rumbling, indicating that it is working, according to flo. I couldn't hear anything at all. It was obvious that it was reacting, but it was incredibly weak! I searched the package for an expiration date but couldn't find one. My guess is that this is either an extremely old container or that the crystals have degraded to the point where it no longer functions properly. In any case, I'm not going to buy it from a retailer online anymore. I'll take the plunge and go to the hardware store where I've always gotten it.
As a last resort, I decided to try this product, and holy shirt! These crystals, combined with boiling water, cleared out the clog in a single dose. I was so enraged by this clog that I ended up drinking the entire bottle as a form of retaliation. In the event that I need to order it again, this product will have a permanent place in my wish list.
What a lifesaver; it saved me tens of thousands of dollars in plumbing costs. There was a flooded laundry room, as well as a backup kitchen sink. This stuff is incredible! I used three of these because my old pipes were clogged with mud from grease and laundry, and they cleaned everything up!.

FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS AND YOU WILL HAVE OPEN DRAINS IN AS LITTLE AS 2 MINUTES. REALLY! I STRONGLY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT AND WILL ALWAYS HAVE A BOTTLE ON HAND.
BUY. This product is fantastic for clearing drains, but I've also discovered that it cleans and shines my stainless steel pots. I've been using this product for over ten years and it's fantastic.
