That, of course, is contingent on the unforeseen. dissolved mineral solids present in the water in which the lye is dissolved br>br>When introducing water to the lye, make sure to wear eye protection. I used the lye to boil out an extremely gummed up fuel tank on my Ford Bronco, and it worked perfectly! After the lye bath, the fuel tank is as good as new on the inside. br>br>I emptied the entire container into the fuel tank, then inserted the garden hose into the tank, holding it in place while keeping your face away from the opening.
I assume you're referring to something like using Ajax on a scowering pad? NO is the answer! You don't want to come into contact with lye.br>br>
Carbon dioxide is completely safe! Are you certain you're not referring to carbon monoxide? Cover the floor with Hydrated Lime, which is dusty but helps to metabolize some of the carbon monoxide particles from the air. This is what was done in old Russian submarines when the oxygen scrubber failed.
The import is imported, and the non-import is non-imported. Imports are manufactured in the United States of America. There is no difference in quality between the two products, and their prices are often comparable. However, there are frequently issues with the domestic manufacturer, resulting in shortages, which is why we carry imports as a backup plan in the event of such shortages.

Doesn't discolor soaps, hasn't caused any packaging issues, and, most importantly, is currently in stock. It is, in fact, available. br>The recall of all lye brands with childproof lids has significantly reduced the number of options available when looking for food-grade lye. I understand why they were recalled, but as long as you keep it up and out of reach of small children, you should be fine. I can't even open them because the lids are so childproof! I had to vent, so please accept my apologies. br>Red Hot Devil is a good value for the money, and the ability to continue making soap with food-grade ingredients is important to me, so I'm satisfied with my purchase.
I'm only going to buy this lye. Other brands haven't lived up to my expectations. I've never been dissatisfied with this brand's quality or ease of use, and I doubt I ever will. Look no further if you want a high-quality, user-friendly, and dependable product.
Impurities in the product, some of which appear to be dust, as well as larger pieces that aren't visible in the photo but appear to be paper bits with print on them. I tried straining out the impurities with a strainer, but some of them were too small. If these black things ruined my goat milk soap, it would be terrible.
2. The first bottle was an ounce short; I had just enough water to make 32 oz of NaOH, but the bottle only holds 31 oz when it's empty. To make up the difference, I had to open a new bottle.
This was used on a clogged drain after I tried a variety of other products and none of them worked. br>If you're looking for a sure-fire way to clear a clogged drain, this is it!.
I ordered a 10 pound container of sodium hydroxide, but received a 2 pound container of potassium hydroxide instead, which is very disappointing because I need to make soap bars right away.
Pretzels are one of my favorite snacks. While I know how to replace sodium bicarb with sodium carbonate to achieve the same pH for the pretzel, the result isn't exactly the same. I used to be able to purchase lye at any supermarket. I'm having trouble finding it. This is perfectly adequate and will serve me for the rest of my life.
This morning I was making my soap lye solutions and as I was measuring it, a tan brown looking spec popped out! It appears to be a wood chip or a leaf of some sort. So I check the other bottles and they, too, have bits inside? So far, three of the five bottles have it, but it could be all five because I haven't poured them all out yet. To be honest, I don't think so.
It's what I use to make soap out of. This is the only brand of soap I use.
