Questions & Answers

Can anyone confirm that the kaboom tablets contain bromine? Someone suggested that you could use hot tub bromine tablets instead, which would be less expensive. ?

Bromine tablets made from generic ingredients aren't a perfect substitute. The Kaboom tablets contain 1/2 bromine and 1/2 chlorinating chemicals, according to SDS. Generic tablets contain 2095% bromine. The bromine tablets work, but they aren't as effective as the tablets that came with the original kit at keeping it clean.

Is this a septic-friendly product?

Right on the box, the manufacturer states that it is septic safe. Our septic service claims that it is safe because the amount of chlorine/bromine that toilet tablets introduce into a septic cistern is minimal (toilet water is typically 10 - 15 of the water that is put in a cistern is strongly diluted). Finally, I saw a scientific paper in which they tested the effect of common toilet tablets on bacteria in septic systems (chlorine type; bromine should be similar because it has a similar biological mechanism), and it was discovered that there was no discernible difference between the "control" systems (which received the same sewage).

Is this product harmful to the seals on tank lids? Is it safe to use in the toilet bowl?

It skips over the tank and goes straight to the bowl. We've been using it for years with no issues with the bowl, and our toilet is always clean and never needs to be scrubbing.

Is this just for the refill tablets, or does it include the toilet unit as well?

No, only the refill tablets are available at this time. br>To get the system up and running, you must first purchase the mechanical unit that fits into the toilet tank. With each flush, it releases one unit of Oxyclean. It's well worth the money because it reduces toilet cleaning time by three-quarters. I buy a dozen of them at a time. That's roughly a year's worth of work. br>Amazon's version is as follows: ten dollars Price: $8.99br>99br>99br>99br>99br>99br>99b 74 ($8. 74 pieces per count) $3 You Save:$2.70 in shipping In stock (20%)

This stuff is great, but it's a little pricey on the internet
4/5

It works well and, unlike some others, does not appear to harm the tank's interior. br>br>However, I'm docking one star due to the high price. I got these for half the price at a store that starts with the letter "L" and ends with the letter "owes. " However, I was unable to locate them at either Target or Walmart.

It really works
4/5

These are nice because they keep the bowl clean. It still needs to be wanded every now and then, but that's about it. The box is simple to open, but the plastic "sleeve" in which the tablets are contained requires the use of scissors. It would be nice if there was a small notch so that you didn't have to look for scissors or risk cutting your fingers if you used a knife; also, the box could be smaller; it's big enough to hold four more packets! I think it's a waste of time. Companies should do everything possible to reduce the amount of packaging they use.

Advertising that is deceptive
3/5

I strongly advise you to stay away from this vendor! This is pure deception. For one box, you're being charged twice as much! According to them, two refills in a single box equals two. It's very deceiving, especially since the majority of the suppliers are only $6. 95 for a single box of two refills. Furthermore, it is marked as non-returnable! br>If you like the product, stay away from this vendor.

maintains the cleanliness of your toilet bowl for a longer period of time This item does not solve the problem of your toilet bowl becoming dirty over time
4/5

br>If you never scrub your bowl from time to time, you will still see the bowl ring and other build up after a while. br>However, I used to have to do it once a week or once every two weeks to avoid build up. But now I only have to do it once a month and there is no buildup. br>br>I would suggest it to anyone who wants to keep their toilet bowl clean. and at the very least, even if you don't clean your toilet bowl, this will keep it cleaner than if you don't do anything. br>br>The only downside is that the tablets don't last as long as they claim. It usually lasts a month because I'm the only one who uses my toilet. I'm guessing it'd be even shorter if there were two or more people.

The Kaboom system combines the best of all possible worlds
5/5

I've experimented with a variety of cleaners. The drop-in tablets are the most effective, but it appears to be a waste of money to keep a tablet submerged in a toilet that isn't used frequently. Plus, plumbers have told me that drop-in toilets aren't the best option. Tablets put a lot of strain on the rubber flapper and other components. br>The cleaner that you either stick inside the bowl or hook over it does nothing to keep the rim clean on the underside. br>This Kaboom system combines the best of all possible worlds. The Kaboom tablets are in-demand because of their unique design. Only the flow tube is exposed to the chemical, and the chemical is ejected from each flush passage, ensuring that more of the rim is kept clean. br>The Kaboom tablets last for three months or longer, but they are costly. but it was well worth the effort.

This cleaner is incredible
5/5

For toilet cleaning, I bought the Kaboom System. This is the third time I've bought it. One is for me, and the other is for my daughter, who is also a friend. I somehow only bought the refills the first two times I bought them. I thought I was taking extra precautions the second time I bought the system because I didn't want to make the same mistake. I'm not sure if the problem is with me or with the wording. Anyway, I finally found what I was looking for. It was incredibly simple to set up. It was over in a flash. There is no assembly required. When I say clean, I'm not exaggerating. We have extremely hard water, which causes significant toilet stains. This system has been cleaned and will continue to be cleaned. Each fill is supposed to last six months, according to the instructions. I'm not sure about that; I've only been using it for a few months, but it's been a lifesaver for me. I only have to clean the toilet bowl once a week, and I really don't have to, but I want it to be as sanitary as possible. This is a system that everyone requires.

Toilet Cleaner of the Highest Quality - There are only a few left
4/5

I've been using this product to prevent black mold for several years and have had excellent results. There has been a wide range of availability. No one was available the previous year. I switched to a competitor, but they were out of stock, so I came back to this. Bottom line: when it's available, it's fantastic.

Toilet Paper Refills by Kaboom
5/5

Are you sick of the pink or black ring around the toilet bowl that most in-home toilets have? the- back- the- If toilet bowl cleaners don't work, what else can you do? The Kaboom Toilet Cleaner System is a great option. This actually works, and the chemical is dispensed directly into the bowl rather than dissolving in the back and potentially damaging the rubber parts of your toilet. These refills were previously available at Wal-Mart. They used to be available at Wal-Mart, but they no longer do.
