Previously, I was using bleach 8300 but the smell of bleach was more powerful in the guest bathroom. I already purchased bleach 8100 blue for the master bathroom, and both the toilet cleaning systems were refilled. After trying the 8100 refill in the 8300 system, I now prefer blue over red and will be buying it in the future. I can keep my bathrooms clean and odor free with it as a great addition to my cleaning arsenal.

There is no way to use them as old ones did. We're going to spend a lot of time on this Let me start off by saying I have been using this product for quite some time. In fact, years ago my local hardware store stopped selling refills and I decided to stockpile several. The calcified deposits do not have to be as difficult to clear from the bowl because my water is very hard and it keeps the bowl clean between manual cleanings so I don't have to spend as much time clearing them away. Although they were costly and I didn't get the amount of time out of a cartridge as I hoped, I liked them very much. I purchased these cartridges (same model number) this year for use with my stockpiled cartridges. As soon as I saw the difference, I was able to tell. In the past, when I first installed a cartridge, the water would appear almost opaquely blue. As well as the cleaning action, it was good. It took me a week to install the new one since the blue dye was faint, almost at the level of 4 weeks use on the previous one. Seeing as blue dye is cosmetic, I assumed there was a change in formula and waited to see how it would work. Only a month after initial installation, it had very little color left and was clear that it was not doing its job well (manual labor was required In order to contact the company, I contacted them. A representative of the company told me that there had been no changes to the product formula and sent me two replacement cartridges and a prepaid box to return the one unused cartridge from the box In my attempt to remove the new cartridge from the dispenser (which no longer had any blue color and was not working for cleaning), I discovered that the dispenser was filled with thick blue gooey sludge which would not dissolve. After removing the dispenser, I rinsed it clean in the kitchen sink (it took a while). I received a new cartridge from the company, which is better than the one I had, but it also is clearly different from the one I had. Unlike the last blue tint, this one was not as dark as the older ones I ran out of, but it was better than the last. It is now clear that despite what the company states, there have been changes to the formulation. I had to get this new one because my previous one did not help me to clean. I went to replace the cartridge today since the blue dye was almost gone again. After pulling it out, I found it to be not empty, and the dispenser was again full of blue sludge (but not as bad as the last one). The process of removing and re-instating it I think putting it in has displace enough sludge so that the cleaner is coming out with a strong color again now. My plan is to use this trick whenever the dye fades again in the coming weeks. In my opinion, they have a fairly long life for the price. However, it is important to understand that some reviewers fail to realize that this does not replace the need to clean your toilet! Cleaning your toilets on a regular basis is still essential (and should be done). In order to get it to work after installation, I flushed the toilet several times. It was barely gray when the water was poured into the bowl. The water wasn't even light grey after 24 hours, it was just plain water. So I figured it just took time. In response to several days of only drinking plain water, I have asked for What's odd is that Amazon said to return the used model? I'm so excited! I took out the used one and found out that the blue tablets on the inside were all clunked and drippy. There's a little baggie that comes in the box to put it in, but whatever. Since I have stopped using the bleach one, I have returned to using plain bleach.
