Yes, that is the case. A horsehair dust rag does a great job of cleaning up fine dust. I use it in my garage in order to work on wood. Picking up the finest sawdust has never been easier than with this broom.

Dark bamboo hardwoods were installed in the house we moved into. There are three children in our family, and three dogs and a cat as well. There had to be a broom that could pick up all the fine hairs and dust without scratching anything. We found this broom to be perfect for our needs. The wide base allows me to sweep the entire main area of the home in a few minutes, and it gets all the dust and hair for good measure. My experience with this broom has been excellent, and it's well worth the money.
Brushes made from horse hair are the best - they will sweep up even fine particles of dust. A broom I used to use has been thrown out. The bristles on it were plastic and did not work well. My expectation was that it would be taken before the garbage truck arrived. I am pleased with how sweeping has gone so far. The brooms are made from animal hair, so there is no static electricity to hold onto dust as with I received this product without the handle as advertised, and since I purchased it through Amazon, I have no way of getting in touch with the seller. I do not plan to return it. Nevertheless, I still expect that the item I ordered will meet my expectations. It would be 5 stars if it wasn't for that.
A handle is described as being attached to the broom. It was impossible for me to get in touch with anyone about it. Luckily, I have another broom handle I could use to make this work.
As an owner of a small commercial cleaning company, I have several employees who leave tools behind at job sites, so we must replace them as often as we can. Perhaps this would solve my problem since I am having issues with the tools, and not with the employees. There is no other broom like this in a big box store. One of those I have and I still use it for debris the size of small chunks, but if you want fine dust you need this one.
