Although this item serves a purpose in providing a much needed reach to a large ceiling shower such as ours, its design is weak as it depends on a pivoting collar that is tightened or loosened with a small ferrule attached to the lower section. This type of mechanism is also a major weakness in the overall design due to its crimping mechanism. Therefore when the crimping mechanism fails the only way to fix it is to disassemble the extension wand. In our case, the two tiny (and I mean very tiny) welds that hold the The welds might have held up to normal use longer if there were more tiny ones. The welds were able to be recreated using a delayed action super glue and an activating spray that I had on hand for another project. Once I realized what the designers were trying to accomplish with the tiny welds, there was no problem repairing the leak.
