I used a 1/4-inch slicer to make mine. I use them (by hand) in the tub and shower. Scratching with a power scrubber would be my main concern. Also, I'm not sure what kind of flooring you have. Perhaps start with a test area, somewhere that won't be noticed if it scratches. I hope this information is useful.

This was primarily purchased to clean the grill, but it can also be used for a variety of other cleaning tasks. I like to use these to remove rust spots from the table saw, and I can cut one of them into three for grill duty, so I'll have scotch brite pads for a long time.
