For the past 20 years, I've been washing dishes with these. They're more appealing to me than 3M green nylon or other less durable variations on the same theme. Chore Boy Golden Fleece scrub cloths appear to contain just the right amount of polymers for removing any stubborn food residue. For baked-on grime in pans and casserole dishes, I use stainless sponge pads. However, when the bright yellow fades to a gray gold shade and they are no longer scratchy, you know it's time to replace them. Unlike some other brands, which ravel and shed fragments all over the sink and down the drain, causing mishaps, shappened spots that have thinned out, or white pill-like spots that have faded. These Golden Fleece scrubber pads are an excellent value and perform admirably. Scrubbers with a higher price tag and a shorter lifespan are available. Some customers complained about odors, but I noticed nothing out of the ordinary. I used one and took a sniff - nothing. I also got a whiff of something that had been sitting around for a while. Skrubba, who reeked like a soiled dishrag - according to plan. I'm not sure why the people with sensitive noses are so upset.
Unlike in the "olden days," these scouring pads now come smelling like a chemical "fragrance," which is extremely unpleasant. I used a strong oxidizing agent like hydrogen peroxide to try to get rid of the stench, but it didn't work. These are incredible. They're the best scour pads you'll ever find. They work wonders when it comes to cleaning pots and pans. They're great for any cleaning job that requires a lot of elbow grease. They have a long lifespan as well. There is a great deal that can be accomplished. They don't fall apart; they just lose their abrasiveness after a long period of use. I just wish there were more than two of them in each pack.
