The same thing happened to me as it did to the other two answers - non-obvious In August 2020, I received scotchbrite pads rather than authentic ones. I included photos of genuine Scotchbrite pads alongside the fakes, as well as a photo of the generic bag they came in rather than the 3M box.

Why does Amazon stand by and allow this to happen? I was clearly knocked out. Aleksandra is selling offs. Co. They don't have the same look, feel, or functionality as genuine Scotch Brite 7448 pads. They're not even in official Scotch Brite packaging, and the pads don't have the appropriate markings. Consumers should be protected from such misinformation. br>br>Amazon, you're destroying your brand!br>br>Take a look at the photos - It's so obvious: different color, texture, and print quality. When you use them side by side, you'll notice that they have different feelings and reactions. I order these a few times a year, and they've always been the same, up until now.
I've tried both the white (finer) and these (courser) and neither of them work. I'm throwing something away.
Each pad has the brite logo imprinted on it. I was worried about counterfeit pads after reading other reviews, but these are genuine, as you can see in the photos.

I received it in a 3M box and it appears to be genuine. br>br>It's perfect for my woodworking needs. In many of my woodworking projects, I use this as the final finish. It's quick and easy to use, leaves a smooth finish, and doesn't clog up like sandpaper. While it does wear away while in use, I don't have to worry about it because I have an entire box. I also cut the squares into smaller pieces and gave my brother half of the box. Both of us are finding a lot of uses for it. br>br>According to my brother, it works great on metal; he used it to clean up some rusted old hand saws at our parents' house. It can produce a significant amount of dust. br>br>.
All scotchbrite pads made by companies other than 3M are worthless chinese garbage. If you want real 3M, you'll have to order them by the case from Amazon.
These and the slightly rougher maroon pads are used in the finishing of musical instruments that I build. These are great for applying wax after the final coat of finish, and the maroon ones are great for lightly scuffing each coat of the four-coat finish for a smooth finish.
