The caddy itself is not the problem. The containers are really great for storing cleaner because you can fit multiple bottles into them. I use one of these containers to store cleaner at each job site. There is a little deceit in the advertisement by showing a 4 gallon bucket.
You want to know the distance from the bottom of the caddy to the bottom of the bucket, if I understand the question correctly. There are five inches in height on the caddy. Three separate compartments is not what I would call it. The only division visible from the top is a single divider that runs from the middle of the handle base to one of its walls. It appears that the handle base makes a partial divider starting 3+" from the end and traversing along the middle, and on one side there is part of a division, but in my opinion there is really only one divided area. I could not find any way to organize the different items that I needed to feed my Koi in it. Rather than having to accommodate large items that would fit tightly, it would be much better for large items.
There is no removable handle on this console. By virtue of the side folds, it doesn't get in the way.

I have no problems finding a place to keep my bathroom cleaning supplies in this container. Carrying it is easy, and it doesn't have a lot of space taken up. It's ideal for a two-story house with three bathrooms because I have to carry everything on this caddy.
My favorite feature of this caddy is its versatility! This is the perfect size for the cleaning products I use.
