It lasts for ever. Our open bottle of this product has been working well for the past two years.
There was no safety seal on the ones I have, but I purchased them a long time ago. They may do so now, but I am not sure. Although the product can be used to treat poison ivy, it is excellent for treating it.
A company named Blistex makes Ivarest, which has its headquarters in Illinois. It is my understanding that Blistex products are made in the United States, but I am unsure about the current product in question
