The Porter's have been my home since I was a child. During what seemed like twenty years, my family had a single can of this. Just a little goes a long way with this fine pomade. I knew I needed a can for my family when I saw it available on Amazon. I was impressed by the smell of Porter's the moment I opened the box. In my mind, I had a feeling that the smell I had grown up with and associated with pain relief is awful to my 7 year old son and 37 year old wife. I can't believe what a wonderful ointment this is! Porter's was to my family what Windex was to the family in My Big Fat Greek Wedding when I was growing up. Our moms and dads always asked, "Did you put Porter's on that?" We had any kind of problem and Porter's was always the answer. I'll be amazed at how much better it will look tomorrow after you put Porter on it! The smell is a bit stinky for some, but I find it to be a comforting scent. The scent still does not smell the best, which is why I gave it five stars. Although the odor isn't bad, you immediately realize it's a real medicine from the olden days. Getting splinters as a kid was a common occurrence for me. In addition to a bandaid, mom would apply this on my finger and sadly it did not infect it and somehow it would draw out the splinter! Furthermore, it lasted for a very long time, as can be seen in the picture. We had the same can for years, so I don't believe it ever went bad or expired. Anybody who has not used it before may find that funny or ridiculous. The stuff here is great, I'm telling you! Minor cuts, burns, blisters can all benefit from this product.
This liniment salve is amazing! I love Porter's! Although it smells like medicine, people don't like buying it. However, I have bought it multiple times and currently using it at home It's a favorite among my granddaughter, 19, who's 19. Whenever her job leaves her with muscle aches, she uses it to relieve them.
