Surgical Dressing, nominally 8x10"br>The various brands are all strong larger outer mesh with a smaller absorbent cotton pad inside; we use two brands all the time here. The outer mesh on both is 8x10 in size. The interior cotton pad is as follows: br>br> br>Medline REF 21454 is an 8x7-inch piece of artwork. Yes, tape would be required to secure it because there is no adhesive on the pad. The pad covers the entire 8x10 with no adhesive around the edges. A stretchy bandage wrap could be used to keep it in place.
It is applied directly to open wounds by doctors. It'll stick, and I always include non-alcoholic beverages in my recipes. First, apply a sticky pad.

It's critical to keep such wounds from drying out. This is protected by a thin membrane that prevents the would from doing so. The pain of a dried-up wound is almost as bad as the pain of a fresh wound: Another benefit is that it makes it easier to apply any ointments that may be required. br>To prevent the ointment from being absorbed by the pad, apply a thin coat of vaseline to the area. Then, on top of the vaseline, apply the ointment, avoiding direct contact with the wound (Blech). br>If you touch it, it has the texture of a thin diaper. So will draw moisture away from it (unless vaseline is added), but will not dry it out. br>PS Vetericyn gel is excellent for it. Vetericyn is gentle enough to spray directly into the eye, leaving it only slightly irritated. The PETCO clerk said it's good for animals with eye infections, so I decided to give it a shot to make sure it wouldn't sting my wound. There were no issues, and the doctor stated that my wound is healing very well.
These are the same as the pharmacy's, but at a much lower cost. Shipping took a lot less time than expected.
The size is larger than most other 8x10 pads. The majority are a fraction of an inch smaller than 8" square, but this one is just under 8x9: very good br>Unlike other brands of pads, the seam in the surrounding material is sealed more tightly: very good br>The outer packaging is sealed with plastic, but once opened, the inner individual seals are made of paper: good! br>br>While some other brands are packaged in a more sterile manner, these are adequate; at the very least, the outer packaging is sealed. br>br>Overall, these are the best I've seen, durable enough to reuse a few times if sterility isn't required.
These are simple to use, gentle on the skin, and reasonably priced.
For church, I'm putting together first-aid kits. I sincerely hope that I will never have to use them.
What happened here is a mystery. A thicker pad is usually used.
