The reason is this: I read some shocking articles about what's in drugstore pads and tampons a few years ago. There's a ton of plastic lining. Chemicals, skin tissue absorption - all of this is found inside "cotton" pads. The math is on you. In addition, I suffer from Endometriosis (Endo). I was on the lookout for non-toxic alternatives. br>Rael's Showcase: I began with the multipack, which I used for all phases of my period. I'm so happy I did. No plastic or chemical odors, no guilt that they won't break down in the environment, no paying into large corporations that period shame women, and these are simply healthier! br>The ONLY disadvantage is that the regular pads are thin (at least for me). I'm not sure about other women, but I use a large pad or an overnight long pad with wings for the first couple of days (they have diagrams to show you the differences in size, shape, and so on). Your choice of pad will be determined by your physical characteristics. Physiology is important, but any size will work at some point during your cycle, so it's worth a shot. I use the liners for spotting and thin days, and if necessary, I also use their tampons. Tampons aren't something I like. A comfortable shaped cardboard (rather than plastic) inserter is included with these. br>End result: These five were ordered. This is the sixth time I've done it. They were tried by my sister while she was in town. They are adored. br>It may appear that I'm being paid to write this review, but I truly adore these pads.
