These are the perfect size for giving cats disguised medicine, supplements, or food (for assisted syringe feeding). It's a lot more comfortable in their mouth than larger oral syringes. I simply touch their side teeth with it, they open their mouths, and I squirt in about 1mL at a time at an angle to avoid it going down their windpipe; these oral syringes also appear to have a better opening than some other types I've tried. br>br>A good supply of oral syringes is essential because I rarely have cats who will eat doctored food.
Cat's medication is to be taken on a daily basis. After a few uses, the ones from the vet become gummy, but they work great when they're brand new. These are challenging to use right out of the box! It's difficult to even get the plunger to return to load the med, and then it takes a strong hard push to discharge the med, which is extremely inconvenient when you need to deliver a quick, smooth, and gentle delivery to the kitties' mouth. I've tried two and they both produce the same results, as well as a large amount of liquid med remaining in the tip, rendering it useless. When it comes to calculating drop sizes. That is medication that should be administered to my cat rather than sitting in the syringe. I wanted to return them because they were so bad, but no returns were allowed, so I'm stuck with 98 useless syringes.
One of the primary reasons I dislike this product is that it wastes approximately 0. Due to the syringe's tip, the concentration is 2ml/cc. To make up for it, I'll have to make up some extra medication. This is a product that I would not recommend or buy again. Some people may prefer it, but I certainly do not.
br>A set of clear syringes with clear corrugated caps was sent to us.
Pros: br>Lines are easy to readbr>Plunger is simple to use, slides in and out easily, and can be removed for cleaningbr>br>Cons: br>The opening is too big, and if it isn't upright, liquid will leak out. br>The cap is poorly designed, as it does not actually seal the syringe tip, leaving a large air gap through which medicine can leak. In comparison to the smaller slip tip type syringe, the tip is large enough that a lot of extra medicine goes to waste. br>While the plunger is simple to install and remove, it can easily come out if not handled carefully. To prevent this, most of the syringes we use have a small catch at the end.
These will be my go-to shoes if the price stays reasonable. tos. br>POSITIVE THOUGHTS:
- a fair cost ok to use only once (summer 2014)br>- (use two large boxes) 3 times per day)br>- Included are caps. br>CONTRARY TO THE OPINIONS OF THE OPINION OF THE OPINION OF THE OP
- Caps were not properly positioned on the syringe (I had to do each one myself, but it only took a few minutes with a thorough hand wash). Unnecessary handling/touching is more of a concern for me).
- Not re-usable in any way. It might take a few hours to sink in, but it usually does (note: I bought a few different kinds to experiment with. I've discovered that they all do it quickly).
We had to give my son 0 mL of oral medication three times a day. They can be washed and reused, but the plunger becomes sticky after a few uses and is difficult to replace. You can get around this by first dipping the rubber plunger into your liquid, but that seemed more trouble than it was worth to me, so I decided to just buy a new box. I'd say we got three or four. Each one has four uses before they begin to stick. The little caps are handy for storing medication for the next day, and they're fine for sitting upright on a counter, but I wouldn't trust them in a bag or anything because they just slide on, rather than screwing or locking in place. That'd be fantastic.
For years, I've been purchasing them for my cat, who requires six oral syringes per day. I wash them in hot, soapy water, rinse them, and put them back into service. I get about three months out of them, which I think is fantastic considering I have to use them twice a day, seven days a week, and one of his medications is sticky. They are extremely durable. I also like that the tip is a little longer, which makes it easier for me to place it on the side of my cat's mouth without having to insert the entire syringe. They come highly recommended from me.
I have nothing negative to say. It comes with a cap for transporting multiple syringes and the syringe markings don't rub off (at least not easily). This is for you if you need to give oral medication multiple times a day. We keep about 5 with us at all times for each child to use throughout the day. Convenience and high-quality are two words that come to mind when thinking about this product However, the price could be lower!.
