The first thing I will say is that I was puzzled about the disparity between people who said they loved them and others who said Having learned why, I can appreciate it more. Putting one in my left ear was easy. It slid right in and wow did it block out the noise. I actually didn't hear my wife talking to me facing me at all (although that wasn't a bad thing). Once I put the other one into my right ear, I looked and what did I see? Despite all my efforts, it didn't go into my ear canal no matter what I angled, spun, or pushed it. I decided to swap the sides of this one, as I thought it was damaged. Similarly, the right ear stayed outside of the ear canal, while both left and right ears slid effortlessly into the right ear canals. I have a total blockage of sound in my left ear, and in my right ear the sound is completely nonexistent.

I then had my wife take a look at it, and she was successful in getting the right one into my ear but it would work its way out within a minute or two. When it was stuck there, it didn't want to go and it hurt. I had an ear implant in my left ear for 20 minutes, and it was wonderful. In the end, I used a small bore scope to take the pictures, but no one wanted to see the insides of my two ears. Oh my gosh. Therefore, I rate this 5 stars with the caveat that it depends on whether you like it or not. I really liked the one that went into my ear canal because it was extremely comfortable and blocked all sound.

A common problem I have with earbuds is that they don't fit well in my ears My earbuds do not stay in my ears like everyone else's. It's usually hard to take advantage of them even if they manage to "hook in", as there is usually some sort of gap or lack of connection. It's amazing how much you can learn about yourself when you buy on Amazon. It was nice to have a limited set that doesn't have a boatload of plugs and that it's still quite affordable/cheap and is not inflated in price because it isn't bulk-sized. These foam blocks are squishy and foam up nicely, and they were able to block about 80% of train horns outside my windows (my windows are double paned, but the sounds don't travel through them completely, of course). Since overnight train deliveries started coming more frequently outside my condo, the train drivers are now required to blast their horns every time they cross my condominium property - it's rather annoying. No matter what time of day it is.
