When you realize they don't affect you.
Most of the concert was spent in the mosh pit, and I didn't remove my ear plugs until the end of it.

My friends could speak to me even over the loud music when the headphones (with red filters) were on. They said the red filters dampened the music to a comfortable level, but I could still hear everything. I was very satisfied with this purchase, and I will go the extra mile to be more gentle in the future when removing the plugs.
It's amazing how great they are. Having used them on a road trip in my open Jeep, I was not only able to hear the radio when set to a reasonable volume but also cut out road/wind noise from the vehicle. What is it? The entire conversation was very clear to me, even the background noise. What would be the point of not using these if they offered protection, a reasonable price, and discretion? They would have done me a world of good when I was If I hadn't heard the white noise and ringing I might have been able to sleep.
