Questions & Answers

What gauge is it, and when does it expire?

I purchased a box in July of 2014, and it is due to expire on January 1, 2015. According to the calendar, the year 2019 begins on January 1st, 2019. In January of this year, I was sterilized. 2014 The Bayer company manufactures this product in Poland. Although the box does not have a gauge, they appear to be 26. They're only a couple of inches long.

Is it a gauge of any particular size? I'm only allowed to use lancets that are extra fine?

I looked through my box to see what gauges you have, but there's nothing on there that says anything about it. The only thing I can say is that they aren't the same size as the ones that came with my original glucose meter, and they damaged my device's spring. I apologize for not being able to assist you more.

Is it possible to repurpose this after cleaning it with rubbing alcohol?

I usually use it for two weeks before replacing it (without cleaning it). When you use one that is extremely sharp, you may not even notice that you have pricked your finger. And, because they're so inexpensive (Medicare covers them), it's simple to replace them on a regular basis.

These are identical to the ones included in the Contour monitor kit, but in a larger quantity
4/5

I don't see the point in buying lower-cost aftermarket branded replacements because the price is reasonable for the number of lancet tips you get in a package.

Microlet lancets are my favorite
5/5

Microlet lancets are my favorite. These specific lancets came to my attention because they are one of the lancets that are listed as compatible with my new pain-relieving medication. Genteel is a no-cost lancing device. It asserted that it was painless. It was free, but it didn't work as intended when I used incompatible lancets. Other lancets either didn't fit in my Genteel or were made of inferior materials. These Microlet lancets are reasonably priced, and I like that they are available in a variety of bright colors. Pricking multiple times a day is tedious for any diabetic, but the bright colors make it a little more fun for me! I'll definitely keep buying these and using them with my new Genteel lancing device.

For a first-time blood sugar tester, this is an excellent choice
5/5

Because diabetes has been diagnosed in several members of my husband's family, we decided to begin testing ours on a regular basis, figuring that it's better to be safe than sorry. I was worried about the pain because I had seen advertisements on television about it. I can't speak for any other lancet brand, but these are fantastic! I completely forget about stabbing myself about ten seconds after the test. (It's possible that the fact that I use an adjustable "stabber" and have it set on the next-to-last-to-last-to-last-to-last-to-last-to-last-to-last-to-last the lowest possible setting ) By contrast, the site where I was tested just before donating blood hurt for over a week! I'm seriously considering bringing my own set-up into the room. When I donate again, I'll be sure to bring it up.

Although the product is of high quality, the packaging is inaccurate
3/5

Microlet lancets are used. As usual, excellent. br>br>However, as shown and described, this is NOT a single box of 100 lancets. Instead, there are TEN plastic packets, each containing ten lancets. br>br>I placed an order for five BOXES and now have FIFTY plastic packets containing ten lancets each - NOTHING LIKE WHAT APPEARS ON AMAZON'S WEBSITE.

They have nothing to do with Micro
3/5

The name gives the wrong impression. These are exactly 28 grams. On Amazon, get a Tiniboy 33g or Tiniboy 38g. Don't be fooled by the bright colors; these lancets are just as painful as any other standard lancet on the market. br>br>An extra star for the colors, but these things are painful.

It was excruciatingly painful, and the packaging was shoddy
3/5

These lancets cause a lot of discomfort. They sting more than others, and you don't get enough blood, so you have to stick again. It's a good thing they're cheap, because throwing them away would be a waste of money.

Fingers are not aching
5/5

These use about a third of the blood that glucose monitors that I've used for years (as a nurse) do. I've adjusted the lancet holder so that I barely notice it! I was recently diagnosed as prediabetic and ordered a Bayer Contour to keep track of my blood sugar levels. I was terrified of lancing, but it was a breeze!.

It does the job, has a nice color scheme, and I like the larger twist off cap
4/5

Lancets that are good all-around. I don't have to worry about pushing the needle out the other side after using the lancet because the twist cap is easy to grip and turn, and it has enough depth. As a result, the four stars are given. I don't get much more than a light tap most of the time, but every now and then I get a little more. Other than the way the lancet is seated in the spring-loaded unit, I'm not sure why. If you're trying to keep track of when to do readings, the different color is helpful. Just thought I'd mention it. Unlike some other brands, which package their lancets in a small zip lock bag, Lancets come loose in the box.
