It is both the Procyon and the Kasina that I own. Approximately three years ago, I ordered the Procyon and used it every day for about five days. In terms of controls and display, the device uses a four character digital display and is reminiscent of 1980s era technology. Using the start and stop buttons will start and stop the game. The ability to scroll through sessions and the option to zoom in or out depending on the input source. In addition to the power button on the side, there are 2thumb wheels for adjusting the LCD brightness and volume. You can also buy or download MP3s in a format called Audio Strobe and play those through an Aux port. All of the components are made of good quality plastic, a bit chubbier than a deck of cards but still a high quality product. I use 3 double A batteries that last me for about 6 weeks with usual With the glasses it's basically just a pair of sunglasses with LCD screens applied to the inside. The headphones are in ear sound great but the foam cover started falling off. It was easily fixed with some superglue. The Mind Machine's visuals can be difficult to describe if you haven't used one before, but there have been some changes over the last few years. I like to describe what I see with the Procyon as if you press firmly on your closed eyes as a child you see pinwheels and kaleidoscopic effects, that is what you get with the Procyon, but that is just one aspect of its capabilities. We have hints of color, crystalliness, and mandalas that are more than we can imagine we will see when our eyes are closed. It can be irritating at times for me to hear the pulsed sound. There is where Audio Strobe stuff helps you get the music and visuals you need. There is no good way for the Procyon to communicate with Getting that right can be done in many ways, and I have enjoyed aligning these sessions to There are a couple of Mind Place forums that deal with that very well. Overall, I have found the Procyon to be a reliable and good way to attain great meditative states for many It's still too early to tell if entrainment will work for me. It seems to me that I fall more into the entertainment category. As of right now the Kasina is a bit more modern than an earbud and represents an early iPod-like device. You get the same quality glasses but you get some good flat cable ear buds. This device is controlled by a small four-square color LCD. There are some pulse sessions, audio strobe sessions, and spectra strobe sessions included. The orchestrated musical sessions take place in those venues. Among the great things about the Kadina is the dozens of sessions on sound cloud that are free and work really well. They can be loaded to the device's SD card. The Procyon device is designed to allow both eyes to be seen at the same time. Each eye can be operated separately by the Kadina. When I bought the Kasina, I already owned the Procyon, so the main reason I bought the Kasina was that Not to mention the light organ or color organ that is built in. The visual effect of mp3s is similar to that of music. Generally, the more dramatic the music, the better the show will be. I'd like to point out the need to create your own sessions. A free editor is provided with the Procyon, but it does not have some variables. A free editor is also available for the Kadina, but it does not have some features. If you want more elaborate sessions, you might want to invest in an expensive application called Mind Work Station. I think if you want to try entrainment the Procyon is well worth the price. Kasina is the way to go if you want to listen to more music and have orchestrated sessions. Starting with the Procyon proves to be a wise decision. On eBay, you should go for the brand new price. Once you have upgraded to the Kasina, you will be able to use it. Use the one you are in the mood for or keep both and use one or the other. Thank you, Kyle
Although my husband uses his Bose noise-cancelling headphones to listen to music.
Nothing special about them. They are merely generic earbuds. It is not by accident that the company put in cheap earbuds because they recognize that people have varying preferences when it comes to earbuds. The ones that came with it were thrown away, and I replaced them with ones I prefer.

It wasn't so clear to me that Kasina was legit It is a science technology. A few years ago, I bought the device out of desperation, hoping that it would offer some relief from my daily headaches and provide me a few moments of relaxation. It is the only part of my life where I have consistently suffered from a headache, and it waxes and wanes in severity but never completely subsides. This would help with/be used in conjunction with biofeedback and meditation, as I hoped. It was approximately 90% certain that I would be returning the device within the first two weeks, but I figured that giving it a go couldn't hurt. In the first few sessions, I experienced some relief from tension in my brain stem, which is located in the back of my head. As soon as I realized this, I couldn't help but marvel at it, and I could not hide my excitement My assumption was that he was trying to reach something deeper or simply getting at my tension. I had to pay a price for it an increase in pain from my pulsing I had a different headache for 3 days before it There is no difference in the feeling in the base of my brain stem. It is very likely that the results were due to As for the very minor relief, I really don't care and was quite pleased with it. There is something fascinating about exploring sessions. While I have been using the device for three weeks now, I'm amazed at the variety of experiences each session brings. When I first started using it, seeing images was hard to do. I would strain and try to adjust how tightly my eyelids were closed to make the images more clear. Since I've learned to let go and enjoy the sessions, I've found it is much easier to meditate. The sessions can be relaxing or intense, depending on what I am doing (sometimes my whole body vibrates, other times it's just my hands and feet that feel warm and tingly), which is really helpful as I suffer from migraines due to keeping my feet warm at night. I always find that at the end of my sleep session, my feet always feel warm and it usually helps me fall asleep at night (consistent sleep schedule is key to managing how bad my migraines are). During some sessions, I experience tingling, or for lack of a better word, flexing in certain parts of my brain. I have especially felt it on the right side of my brain. I found it really cool and a little scary at the same time. It is important for me to mention that sometimes I need to turn down the brightness or take off my Just how sensitive I am to light at the time of doing the session (migraines) will determine how long it takes. As long as you give it a fair shake, you can enjoy new experiences out of this. Furthermore, here are some cool things you might like to know Over the last 3 weeks, I have had lucid dreams more often. While I've had a few over the course of my life, I never had so many in such a short amount of time. It all started with the terrifying experience of waking up paralyzed with intense vibrations in my head while I was sleeping. A night of this constantly occurring led me to learn to cope with this and instead of freaking out, I learned to calm myself and as a result, I enjoyed lucid dreams very much. As of the time of purchase, I did not realize the amount of sessions the game came with. Meditation, relaxation, sleep/dreaming, waking up and energizing sessions are all included along with a number of other frequency sessions that I believe come with other mindplace devices or are utilized in conjunction with them. Additionally, there is a good forum community in which users can download user-created sessions, get more ideas and tips on how to utilize Kasina and or perhaps learn how to create their own. It is a relatively new service, so I am only scratching the surface.
The color organ is also a noteworthy It's great that you can play your own music. Be sure to charge your device beforehand. In this department, there have been no complaints. Despite the fact that upgrading the hard drive is cheap, the 4GB hard drive is really small in my opinion. An iPod that costs 350 dollars is expensive enough I don't think I should be forced to upgrade it It would be better to use 16 or 32 like devices rather than 64. A total of all the cables that you could need or want are included, a real plus. In addition to the stereo to stereo cable used with mp3 players and cell phones, the kasina has a color organ to enable you to use other tracks in conjunction with the colored tracks. In this department, they did an excellent job. Overall, I think this is a great device. If you have a neurological disorder, I would recommend you give it a try. In the worst case scenario, you return the product if it does not.
Mindplace's Procyon AVS is something I use in my office. I've always been impressed by how it generates Mandelas and the changing geometric shapes it creates. In the time since I had last used it, I had never used it. A few months ago, I started reading about mindfulness and meditation. Kasina caught my eye in a review, and I quickly bought it for use in my home I use it every day. My ability to remain in the moment has been greatly improved by it. There were fewer reviews for Procyon than for the reviews for the more diffuse patterns. While some of those programs aren't sharp, many of the ones in Kasina are just as stunning as those in Procyon. I was impressed with the array of colors available to me. The Procyon system operates with white, black, gray, shades of red, green, and blue, along with colors like purple, but Kasina's coloring system takes it much further. In addition to watching the patterns, I also let my eyes examine the wide field of view at top, bottom, left, and right by using SpectraStobe, and I can clearly observe how the patterns are separate from eye to eye. Kasina definitely helps to calm down my “monkey mind” and for longer than the time spent in the My sessions usually occur after work, and I find they help me for the rest of the
It's truly a remarkable product. I do find the Kasina glasses a bit uncomfortable on my nose (as other readers have pointed out), especially when I lay down with the device. A pair of those eye glass kits with tiny pads will be needed to give me some comfort, as the earbuds were uncomfortable as well. Although they come in two sizes, I prefer to use my Bose headphones at home or my Bose earphones at work.
Using the Kasina for my therapeutic purposes has provided outstanding results in terms of relaxation and temporarily alleviating and calming my tinnitus. Combined with the unique sound and light strobing techniques, easy to use, music and light programs that come with the product, and the ability to load my own music, it will shift your mind into a tranquil meditative state rapidly. I just launched the color organ for the first time, and I found the automatic color organ function to be very helpful. Previously I owned biofeedback devices. This is the first device of this kind I have owned. There is no doubt that this helps me relax, and it became a constant in my daily regimen a) The product is extremely well supported through an active forum and by the company that made it, a company in business for over 25 years from what I understand. A support email was sent, and I received a reply in just over five minutes The fact that a company's support can be responsive is indicative of their commitment, even if that kind of approach is not always available. If you unbox the product, remember this isn't an iPhone. It is the work of a small, passionate company and user community that has created specialized custom hardware and software for a focused purpose. You don't have to worry about having a polished aluminum back, or having other elements on some of the more expensive phones today. You may feel that it is a little light and doesn't have a touchscreen (instead you will find easy to use directional buttons), but based on my research, the combination of capabilities, advanced hardware/software, and price is unmatched in a device of this type.
