Questions & Answers

Can you tell me if this is fire retardant?

I am not sure if it is fire retardant, even though it is described as a thermal barrier in the literature. There does not appear to be anything flammable about the aluminum coating.

Is it possible to use this under the hood of my 1979 MB? Is that okay?

The only car it works on is a

Could you recommend using Hoodliner as the only solution after Dynamat Extreme to reduce noise and heat in a firewall application?

It is highly recommended that you use both Dynamat Extreme and Dynamat Ultra As a result. My approach was the same as yours. Now that it has lasted almost a year, it still works fine. In spite of this, the number of entries was only about 10 The noise level from my diesel has reduced by 20%. There are more higher frequencies than lower There is no way around it though, diesels just do it.

What is the effect of applying this product to the floor boards or firewall and hood in reducing high frequency engine and transmission noise?

There is no high frequency noise muffled by this, but I have a cab forward vehicle (Jeep FC170), in which the engine is located

My E450 Motorhome dog house is significantly quieter and cooler than most others
5/5

Hoodliner was installed on the inside of the motor cover (dog house) of a 2014 E450 28' boat. The motorhome. Before installation, I took a decibel reading on my phone using an app and it registered a maximum of 82dB. As you accelerate to 65 mph, you hear a loud pavement. Due to the complex design of the installation cover, it took about an hour to install. To start, I pressed the paper in the best I could then cut rough around the edges and sharp creases allowing almost two inches on both sides. The plan might have been best if a paper pattern was made. Using a pencil, I outlined a triangle in the center of the Hoodliner and began to remove the backing. I then pressed as hard as possible and moved on to the next Next, I made my final edge cut around the peripheral to ensure the seal on the cover would be clear of obstructions. In the final step, I pressed quite hard to ensure there would be no space between the Hoodliiner and As a result, I then remeasured the sound on that same road and calculated that it would be There's been a big improvement there. It would have been nice to measure the temperature, but I forgot, but the wife was delighted that the hot spots on her leg had disappeared. The Hoodliner is the only thing that worries me, as it has been quite stable so far.

Always read reviews before making a purchasing decision
4/5

There was a lot I could have done to improve the trimming. The right side of the hood ended up coming short (see the photo closely). I wish I had taken into account the dips in the hood, or read some of the reviews that encouraged me to do so first. The Dynamat tape will be purchased solely for its ability to clean up the.

Overpriced OEM can be replaced with this alternative
5/5

I decided to look for a replacement for my OEM hood insulation because the original was deteriorating right before my eyes. Originals were held in place by permanent push rivets that required a lot of effort As I mapped out the location of the push rivets on the new Hoodliner I used the old pad as a template and traced it over the new one. It was not ideal to glue the Hoodliner directly to the hood, so I glued it to a thin insulating roll I had purchased from A new set of push rivets that are removable was also delivered to me. Although I am not certain if it is essential to have hood insulation on my car, it is an effort to reduce engine noise and keep the paint intact. When the hood is closed, the Hoodliner barely touches the plastic top cover of the engine. However, it does not push back when the hood is closed. It should last longer than the original and I am pretty happy with the results.

Trim & install without difficulty, with real benefits as soon as you turn the key
5/5

Made in the U. S. A. I made it! Surely, there is nothing not to like about this? The engine noise is instantly reduced and the amount of heat that passes through the hood is greatly reduced. I could not have asked for a simpler application process. One was held up by me I used a piece of paper to check measurements for the hood on my '85 Jeep CJ-5 It fit me almost perfectly and was a perfect fit for my size 7 We did not need to trim the stems. In order to fit it tight against the leading edge of the underside of the hood, I tore off about a third of the waxy paper backing. Back by about an inch It must be pushed lightly until it sticks. Finally, I pulled off the last bit of the backing and pressed the remaining liner into place, pressing firmly as I pushed, tack-tacking my way along until the entire sheet was in place. all there is to nice and the best part is that it begins bringing benefits the minute you drop the hood and fire up the engine. In addition to using this same product on the underside of my ZTR lawn mower deck shields, I also used it to quiet up the pulley & belt noise. There is also a whirr from the engine hood and the blades. Once again, a quick and easy install with no hassles. This project was completed in 2013 and it's still going strong today. A great company to work with, Dynamat is one of the best This hoodliner is an excellent product. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking simple, efficient reduction of both engine heat and exhaust fumes. The product works well and is made in the USA, so it's nice to buy something made in the US. The "5 STARS" criteria have been met!.

This Powerstroke diesel engine has a 6 liter displacement
5/5

There is no guarantee that the noise will be reduced, but the truck will be able to be talked around while it runs. In addition, interior noise was significantly reduced at highway speeds as well. A muffler was installed to muffle It performs well over Dynamat, but I can't speak to how well it would perform without it. Please make sure you order at least 2" aluminum tape from here as well, as well as degrassing the surface completely to enhance adhesion. Work your way outwards from the middle, so that you can shape this to fit the hood contours without any Make sure you tape off the ends with aluminum tape so that dirt won't get trapped over time in the glue.

Keep applying pressure to the glue for some time to make it work
3/5

There is no point to this product. According to the description, there is no glue in the back of the hold and, therefore, the hold cannot be applied directly. My hood has been coated in a layer of Noico 80 mil sound deadener and I would like to paste the hoodliner over the top. It is too large to send back to Amazon because the product was cut to fit my hood. Seeing as how they provide the same thing that is useless, I am not certain whether I should get a replacement. A message was left on Dynamic Control (the manufacturer's voice mail account) as well as an email. see how that goes. The end of the day didn't go well You still have to keep holding on to the glue for a while, but it works! Yes, of course! It would have been helpful if instructions had been provided. In any case, I installed the product and applied aluminium tape around the edges of the edges to seal them. It didn't seem like much of an impact on sound. There is also the Noico 80 mil below that, which is doing most of the work.

This kit works as advertised, and it reduces noise in Ford E450 RVs
4/5

It is fairly easy to install under the hood of the Ford E450 A motorhome based in the United States. There was a lot of cutting required to fit the odd shapes under the hood (I drew and cut templates from the included kraft paper) and I also used a fair amount of aluminum duct tape to seal the edges (not mentioned in 4 dB reduction in the sound coming into the cabin from the engine bay In the cab, it previously registered 87 dB at speed on the Interstate, which is a big deal, since it measured at 88 dB a few years ago.

The product is not what it is advertised to be
3/5

In reality, the dimensions of this window are 30" x 52" instead of 32" x 54". There is also a statement on the box that says, "for optimal results, install over Dynamat Extreme. " That will cost you an additional This stuff is for you. These sticky tabs are almost like a Post It Note in the way they adhere to the back. Basically, it won't stay with anything long at all. The product I received disappointed me very much.
