In comparison to peppermint oil that is usually used, this is extremely dilute. Applying it directly to my skin for muscle pain and to my stomach works wonders for me. I have a severe stomach digestive issue so applying it directly to the skin and belly helps me. Obviously, this isn't what we are talking about. There are a number of aromatherapy quality alternatives to peppermint oil, however, but this one only works as a scent. I agree that it would be ideal for a defuser, but it does not address problems with headaches, muscle pain, or stomach discomfort
