In a way, I lied. It depends on your perspective of the lie and how you intend to use it. Mentha piperita is the source of true peppermint oil. Mentha arvensis produces cornmint oil, which is inferior and much less expensive. Cornmint contains a lot of menthol, and it's grown so that a lot of it can be crystallized and sold. The "dementholized oil" that is left over is then sold as a bonus, which is why it is so much less expensive than peppermint oil. Even "dementholized oil," also known as DMO, contains more menthol than peppermint oil. Cornmint oil, on the other hand, is inferior to peppermint oil in terms of odor, flavor, and therapeutic value. Many companies, particularly in Asia, will refer to cornmint as peppermint, so it's always a good idea to double-check the Latin botanical name with them. Cornmint oil is often sold in the United States by uneducated or unethical vendors. Peppermint oil is a great example of this. Cornmint can also be used to adulterate peppermint, but trace marker peaks in the GC/MS can tell us when this is the case. Cornmint may smell similar to peppermint to the untrained eye, but with practice, you'll notice that their odors are vastly different, with peppermint having a sweeter, more complex aroma and flavor. Please don't believe anyone who tells you that these oils are interchangeable or that cornmint is superior in any way. Because they've been peddling corn mint, these people are either ignorant or have a hidden agenda. br>br>In a nutshell, arvensis is inferior, but it serves the same purpose. Although it is not peppermint, the seller is lying, and it can be used in the same way.
False: Peppermint (Mentha Piperita) comes in only one variety. Anything else is a fabrication or a ruse. However, there are many different kinds of mint, including Mentha Arvensis, which this company is attempting to pass off as peppermint.
That should give you a hint that it isn't Peppermint. Plus, it says it's not peppermint because Mentha Arvensis is corn mint under where it says "Peppermint." You can get corn mint for a low price. It's inexcusable that this is still going on.
Perhaps she's referring to the methods used by practice labs to extract menthol from corn mint oil, which is what this product is (it's not peppermint, as the label claims) and what other menthol products are made of. After that, there's still mint oil with a low menthol concentration, which could be what this stuff is. I bought a bottle of this, and it smelled awful and had very little menthol in it.

The shed is in the middle of a field. We don't want to use poison because we have a variety of wildlife in the area (owls, Bobcats, snakes, etc. ), but we do need the mice to stay away. This has so far proven to be extremely effective. How can I tell if it's functioning properly? In the shed, there are still a few traps. This winter, we've only caught a few mice (compared to daily catches last year) and haven't seen any telltale tail signs. While peppermint may be useful for a variety of purposes, it has proven to be particularly effective at keeping mice at bay.
When I first got it, I was skeptical because I didn't think it was genuine peppermint oil. The scent is strong and authentic, as I discovered when I used it. This is what I use for pest control, so I'm glad it's the genuine article. I dilute some and spray it around my house, and I use the undiluted version on cotton balls around the house. I'd like to get a diffuser for this purpose as well. When I paid more for one bottle of another brand, I got two 16oz bottles for the same price!.
I really like how strong the scent is! To keep squirrels and other Rodents out of my attic, I make a 10/1 spray bottle and squirt it all over! This is a noxious odor that they despise! Excellent value for money! Thanks.
It's also in my garage, near my garbage cans and recycling bins. All of these areas are free of vermin, which was not the case just a few years ago. Peppermint is an effective stimulant. Even on foxes who used the bushes in front of my house as a personal toilet bowl. It works just as well on dogs whose owners let them relieve themselves on your lawn.

Hello. I hope you are well today. I bought it because it was on sale for two for one. However, this product has a strong chemical odor, so I chose not to use it on myself. Around the house, I use it as a cleaning product as well as an insect repellent. I'm not sure I'd purchase it again.
We and our neighbors were having a terrible time with a rat that escaped my neighbor's gel trap and proceeded to get under the hoods of all of our cars (3 for us, 3 for our neighbors) and damage some wires under the hood of my wife's car, causing over $400 in damage. I bought an empty spray bottle, filled it with peppermint oil, and sprayed it all over the engine compartments of our three cars three times a day. 4 days for cars that were driven every day, and once a week for cars that weren't driven as much. After spraying the peppermint oil all over the area, we saw no more rat droppings in any of our three cars' engine compartments. I was also able to successfully trap the rat using an old-fashioned wooden platform with spring-loaded traps. Peanut butter was used to activate the lever. This peppermint was the best deal on Amazon, and it had the thickness and viscosity of a thin cooking oil, which was better than water's viscosity but thinner than, say, motor oil. It was a little thinner than Wesson cooking oil, for example. It could have been a little thicker, but it was still better than I expected.
