The wood is walnut.
Both sides grind sharply, as if they were a good knife.
Although we do not currently offer custom burning, we may be able to stamp it for you. For more information, please get in touch with us. Thanks
It has been forged. My Ulus is my favorite; it's a little thicker than the others I've tried, but I think it's the best.

blade that was manufactured Very nice work! The blade snap doesn't stay snapped in the holster, which is a shame because it's a nice holster. As a result, I took away a star. The blade is incredible in and of itself. br>br>UPDATE: br>br> They sent me a replacement sheath that snaps in place and is stamped as well! In addition,.
I was in Alaska when I bought a very thin stainless Ulu knife. It's ideal for chopping tomatoes and other fruits and vegetables. I was concerned that the handle would wear out, so I went out and purchased a more substantial Ulu knife, which I chose. It was in excellent condition when it arrived. It was in desperate need of a sharpening. After sharpening it, I attempted to cut vegetables with it. It will cut tomatoes, but it will smush them rather than slice them. It's a matter of scale. When it comes to pursuing a piece of meat, however, it is at its best. The handle on this knife appears to be indestructible. So, in the meat-chopping compartment, it'd be a 5-star rating. In my opinion, a star should be given to vegetables, but not for them.
The pouch itself is well-made, and I thought it was interesting that it smelled like fish or seal oil, not sure which, but it was worth mentioning. br>br>The knife itself isn't particularly sharp, but that darned edge at the right angle is no laughing matter. Damascus steel, if you're wondering. " We have a chopper with a "damascus" print that, while sharp and dependable, falls short of this ulu's quality. It has a good weight to it and a pleasant feel to it. It cuts beautifully and sharpens easily. (This is probably why I sliced off a small piece of skin. ) )br>br>Anyone looking for a good ulu should get this. If you're looking for a cheap one to get used to the rocking motion and use, there are a few on Amazon under $20 that will suffice. This bad boy is the one for you if you're looking for something that will last you a long time. br>br>Oh, and their delivery was prompt and accurate! From Alaska, it took about three days to reach me.
The blade as well as the handle are stunning. This is an excellent knife. The blade as well as the handle are stunning. The knife is large and sturdy, and it appears to be well made. It's sharp and cuts like a dream; I've used it to slice a small pizza and cut vegetables, tomatoes, lettuce, cheese, and olives. I was hesitant to spend so much money on an ulus when there are so many inexpensive options on Amazon, but I'm glad I did. br>br>The attention to detail and craftsmanship that went into making this knife is evident, and the price is well worth it for something that should last a lifetime.
I wish I had found it before I bought a couple of other Ulus. I anticipate using this for the rest of my life; a dished board, such as the one pictured, is useful for nuts and herbs, but is not required. Purchase this one to save money and time. It has made me very happy.
The product is exactly as described. It's made of real Damascus steel rather than just an etched design, and it's also full tang, so it's quite sturdy for its intended use. Because it is used in a rocking motion, it is ideal for people who have limited hand strength or can only use one hand at a time.
I was initially sceptical due to the price, but was drawn in by the product's beauty; this knife is just as beautiful, if not more, than it is described to be. My husband was in a near-fatal motorcycle accident and had to have his right arm partially amputated. We ended up buying a utility knife from a local store, but it turned out to be of poor quality and didn't last long. I'm on the verge of purchasing the diamond cut steel sharpener for it (it would be nice if it was sold as a pair rather than a single item). nudge nudge nudge nudge nudge nudge I really like your products.
This ulu is exceptional and beautiful, exactly what I would expect from a handcrafted ulu from Alaska (my home state). My previous ulu was lost in a move, so I purchased this one to replace it. The only criticism I have is that the blade isn't sharp, and cutting through anything requires far too much pressure, which increases the risk of injuring oneself. I'll keep it and sharpen it myself, but I was disappointed that it couldn't even cut paper when I first opened the package; it tore right through it. I tried it on a box and all it did was leave a surface dent; I had hoped for more.
