The blade is opened with either a thumb or a slick finger action, both of which are spring assisted. This isn't a criticism, but take a look at some of the photos to help you choose your font, as some are clearly larger on the wood than others. I went with a brush stroke and just my initials (as seen in the photo of Jim's knife). They appear to be a little on the small side, but they are still attractive. Your mileage may vary depending on your preferences, but if you've been considering this knife, I highly recommend it.

The feedback is reliable. This is a fantastic gift that is made of high-quality materials! AWESOME gift for a father. My father cuts up random things all the time, so I wanted something that didn't look so fancy that he wouldn't want to use it, but was still sturdy and had a personalized look to it. When it arrived on time, I was ecstatic and pleasantly surprised; it felt heavy, indicating that it was of high quality and would last a long time. long-lasting substance The etching turned out fantastically! And, best of all, my father seemed to enjoy it, which is saying a lot considering he is a man who rarely shows emotion. Anyway, it's well worth the money, especially since it's a one-of-a-kind item! This knife was given to me as a gift during the holidays. Overall, the quality is excellent, especially considering the price of tac force knives is around $10 (the seller obviously adds on the engraving fee). However, because the price is around $25, the only real reason to buy this knife is for the engraving, as there are many other knives of comparable quality for around $25 (Kershaw cryo, crkt drifter, etc. ). With that in mind, here are some of the knife's benefits and drawbacks:br>br>Pros:

- Very strong. The knife is very sturdy, and I believe the handle is solid metal (I honestly can't say for sure, lol), but it feels solid and not cheap.
- There's no play on the blade.
- Brought in a decent amount of sharpnessbr>- In comparison to almost every other knife with a seat belt cutter, which is usually integrated into the handle and does not flip, the flipper seat belt cutter design is nice. br>- The etching is excellent. As a result, be careful when selecting a font. I wouldn't recommend using a font that is overly "fancy," as mine is.
- The assisted opening works fine, and it's actually stronger than the one on my Kershaw Leek (shown in the comparisons above), which is mostly a good thing, though it should be noted that a stronger spring mechanism will wear out the knife more quickly. Furthermore, the stronger spring makes it a little more difficult to open the knife, especially when using the flipper. br>br>Contrary to popular belief, there are a number of disadvantages to using this product.
- This knife has a substantial thickness to it. This may not be a deal breaker for everyone, but this knife is nearly twice as thick as my Kershaw Leek, despite having a blade that is nearly the same length. I understand it's thick because of the seat belt cutter and bottle opener, but it makes edc with this knife far more difficult than with many other better options.
- The lining lock is a little flimsy. It still appears to be in good condition and should be, but it appears to be a little thin.
- Only one side of the knife has a thumb stud, making it difficult for left-handed people to open it.
- Although tac force frequently delivers very good quality knives for a great price, their quality control isn't the best, as I've seen in other tac force knife reviews; on my knife, the bottle opener mechanism is misaligned and won't close once opened unless pushed back into position. Above is a picture of what I'm talking about. This isn't a big deal for me because I'm not planning on using it much, and yours might not, but quality control is something to keep in mind.
- Both the bottle opener and the seat belt flippers are extremely tight, making them difficult to open with one hand, which worries me a little, especially with the seat belt cutter, which seems like something I'd want to be able to use quickly and easily if I needed it.

I was very nervous because this was my first time ordering something personalized through Amazon, and I also purchased one of these for both my and my boyfriend's fathers for Father's Day with no backup plan! As you can imagine, I was overjoyed when they arrived promptly and in excellent condition. For each knife, I chose a different font, and they both turned out beautifully. The etching is clear, and the knife is of high quality, sharp, and durable construction. The only thing I can see happening in the future is the wooden piece breaking/falling off if the knife is handled roughly, but that isn't an issue for either of the people I'm giving it to. I'm really happy with this; it's a great gift, especially for the price, and I'm thinking about getting another for my grandfather for Christmas!.
