Lady enjoys her walks, but she is still terrified of people (she was rescued from a car behind my apartment during a flood in the city). My dog trainer advised that I must earn her trust by convincing her that I will not allow strangers to enter her space. After that, and only then, will she feel at ease around everyone. As a result, I needed something that would keep both adults and children at bay without me having to explain to them 100 times why they shouldn't pet her because she's shy. I didn't want to have to buy a new hardness with messaging that might be missed anyway because she already has an expensive Ruffwear harness. This appeared to be the ideal answer. Some people may mistake her for a fear biter as a result, but if it keeps them away and allows my dog to heal and feel safe to interact when she's ready, then so be it. People have respected both the sign and her space as a result of being able to give her stress-free walks in public, on trail walks, at the farmers market, and in various other places. Being able to give her stress-free walks has made her a happier pup, which I hope is just another step in her healing process.
This warning for my nervous rescue is fantastic. Because she is friendly, I despise all the "do not pet" options I see in stores. People must be aware, however, that she should not be approached. The colors are vibrant and beautiful, and the text is legible.
To keep the leash on, I expected a thin fabric with buttons. It's a huge improvement! It's a heavy fabric that appears to be durable and long-lasting. My purchase was a great success. It was also packaged in a cute manner.
