I bought this to use as a chip dip because Frito bean dip was unavailable. I honestly couldn't tell if the pork was good or bad. The jalepinos were visible and tasted. It's a bit hot. The texture was not as nice or as smooth as it could have been. Worse, the can had six dents on the bottom and sides, so it wasn't worth the $5 to me.
There is no pork to be seen or tasted. Is it possible that it's just the fat from the pork? I'm not sure, but it's a lot of money for a tiny can of refried beans that tastes exactly like refried beans. It's unlikely that I'll buy it again.
I really wanted to like this, and I'm not one to throw food away, but I finally gave up and tossed it!.
I got the bundle and have only tried the Spicy Black Bean Dip so far, but I like it a lot. It's thick, has a good amount of spice, and is made with clean ingredients. Unlike another reviewer who claimed that mold appeared after three days, mine has been open for nearly a week (because it is filling, especially when eaten with their pork rinds) and I have seen no signs of mold. I'd buy it again if it came in a bundle or variety pack, but the $5 price tag is a bit much for me.
I got a can with a lot of dents! They have refused to refund or exchange my payment. That has a foul odor.
It's like a paste, and it's extremely hot. It tasted like thick, spicy grease, and it was not pleasant to eat.
Worth it.
Perfect.
