I've never had to purchase commercial red bean paste before, so I'm not sure what to expect. I found this brand to be a little too wet around the edges when I needed to roll balls of it between my hands to make the fillings for bean cakes and sesame balls. However, I was able to use enough of the paste's main body for my needs, so I didn't have to waste the excess. I was unconcerned about the goopy leftovers. With one package of mung bean cake filling, I was able to make 25 mung bean cakes. Please accept my rating with a grain of salt, as you may know more about what to expect than I do.
I do a lot of Chinese cooking and this is a great red bean paste to use in it. Recommended by the chef! A+++++++.
I used to make my own anko, but this is far more convenient and just as effective.
It has a lot of flavor but isn't overly sweet.
My wife adores Anko (despite the fact that I have never been a fan). She gives it ten out of ten stars (the Amazon system only gives it five).
I didn't need to go to the store because it was so convenient.
I like how it's sweet and savory at the same time. I used the paste to make Dango and Doyakai, and it's so good that I could eat it all by itself.
It was delicious.
