I had to throw away some of the other brand's cans because they were dented. From now on, I'm going to order these.
However, the cost is increasing. br>Then I came across this Laura Scudder All Natural Bean Dip, which I have to say is pretty darn tasty. br>It has a coarser grind than the "other" brand, but it tastes great, especially after chilling. I prefer it to the "other" brand because it is a little softer. br>I bought a 12-pack, which should last me a year, but I'll buy it again. br>Recent changes: Every year, I go through two of these flats!.
(The first was the Original variety. ) We loved the Original and are now enjoying the Jalapeno as well. Many of the brands I've tried in the past were either too bland or had a too firm texture, making them unsuitable for chip dipping! What good is bean dip if it isn't served with chips? br>br>Transfer the dip to a microwave-safe container, cover, microwave for 30 seconds on high, stir, and repeat in 15-second intervals until you reach your desired temperature, according to the instructions. You get a much more even heat distribution and don't have scorching hot and lukewarm portions if you stir in between. br>br>Both heated and at room temperature, we really enjoyed the bean dip. When eaten at room temperature, it's a little thicker, but once heated, it's the PERFECT texture! It's creamy and perfect for dipping tortilla chips, even those that are thinner and more delicate. We've used tortilla chips, corn chips, and burritos to make this. It goes well with just about anything! br>br>In terms of flavor, the Jalapeno has a distinct vinegar flavor. It wasn't obnoxious, but it was noticeable. Although you can taste the jalapeno, it isn't spicy enough to burn your mouth. I was able to tolerate the heat level with ease, despite the fact that I am a spice WIMP! It was well-seasoned while still allowing the natural bean flavor to shine. br>br>Delicious bean dip that will last us all football season.
It's mild, with a hint of jalapeno flavor but not much spice. I think it has a nice, fresh, mild bean flavor with a hint of jalapeno; it's not spicy, but I can detect the jalapeno flavor. The thickness appeals to me as well - It's not runny, nor is it thick and hard; it's just right for dipping corn chips in. br>br>I docked a star because I placed two 12-inch orders. The outsides of the cans were a little dirty and more than a little sticky when they arrived. This Jalapeno 12-Pack is a great way to get some extra heat into your There was a puncture in one of the cans, but it was on the bottom side, which was against their cardboard tray, which was undamaged, so I believe it was damaged before it was plastic wrapped and sent to Amazon.
It comes with instructions for heating, but the can isn't microwave safe, and I'm lazy, so I just ate it cold. This flavor has a thicker consistency than the original. It has a very vinegary flavor, and I think it tastes more like vinegar than jalapeno, with a hint of spice but not too much. This one has a flavor that I don't care for.
I don't detect any jalapeo flavor, but I detect a hint of vinegar. I tried some tonight as a dip, but I think they'll be best with nachos. Why are there two lids if you can't heat it in the original tin? It's easy to pop out of the can into a bowl and microwave. The flavor is good, and the vinegar isn't overpowering, but it's not the flavor I was expecting.
This bean dip has a light to medium heat level, depending on how spicy you like your food. With the vinegar, it's quite strong, so it's best served with chips or toasted bread crackers. Heck, I was just putting a bunch of beans in a tortilla wrap and heating it in the microwave to make a quick bean burrito.
