Questions & Answers

Is it really 49 cents for one avocado? What's the deal with Amazon's price fluctuation?

Large Avocados are reasonably priced at 49 cents each. The Avacodos I received from Amazon Fresh, on the other hand, were not particularly large. The purchase left me feeling extremely let down.

Is this a Mexican or a Californian crop? I don't want to eat my avocado if it's covered in blood. ?

Do not make a purchase
3/5

In the end, you'll have to go to the store to purchase them. I purchased them several times over a period of time and was unable to consume them each time. They ripen unevenly, with one part turning black and the other becoming solid yellow and hard, with a rubbery flavor. I always ended up going to the grocery store to get regular avocados. And because I make extra trips there, I end up buying other things as well, so the need to order from Amazon Fresh has vanished because I already have to go to the store. As a result of single avocados, Amazon Fresh loses money on other grocery items as well.

Never to be repeated
3/5

I'm done with it. I've bought these twenty times and they've always been frozen before going bad, already bad, or going bad on the counter instead of ripe, and I've never been able to tell which ones are which. not one.

Product description that is not accurate
3/5

I ordered three large, unripe avocados and received three fully ripe avocados in return. They were not edible because they were black and bruised on the inside. I squandered ten dollars on avocados that I couldn't eat! I won't be buying anything else in the future.

Avocados that are small in size
3/5

Update - These avocados are still small and expensive; if you're willing to take a chance, just keep in mind that you'll be paying more for a small avocado. The level of quality varies. The majority of mine arrive hard and ripen in a matter of days (while still being small). The price of these should be reduced, or the word "large" should be removed from the description. 'It's definitely a small space. ' Generally, they are slightly larger than a lemon.

The avocado experience was a sad one
3/5

Avocados, on the other hand, are delectable. Unfortunately, for their fresh deliveries, Amazon started using plastic bags that seal shut. That bag smelled awful, and it wasn't recyclable, and so on. I had no idea avocados had a distinct odor. They don't appear to be absorbent, but they appear to be. My two lovely, green, ripe avocados smelled and tasted exactly like the strong chemical bags that Amazon had placed them in. It was one of the most frustrating situations I've ever encountered:.

There is never a good avocado batch from Amazon
3/5

I've tried getting avocados delivered with my fresh orders to the door on a regular basis, and wow, at least 3/4 of the avocados are completely inedible every time. They're either severely under or overripe, and they never show up like the rest of the produce on the market that's ready to eat right away. Don't put bright green hockey puck dense avocados in my bag, or ones that have turned browner than your turds, unless the stock is absolute garbage and they're incapable of timing the inventory to be edible, USABLE avocados, or the shopper is literally the dumbest person alive every time. This is completely absurd.

Delicious and of excellent quality. I purchase a large quantity for the week and leave them out for three days. I wait 5 days until one of them begins to 'give' a little when squeezed, and then I eat it. The following day, it was the same. When more than one has reached that stage of ripeness, I put the rest in the refrigerator - I've discovered that if they're just on the verge of ripe, they actually ripen the rest of the way in the fridge, just a little slower, giving you time to stretch out the ripening process so you can eat one a day before they all get ripe at once too quickly; on the other hand, if you put them in the fridge too soon, they'll ripen unevenly and half of the avocado will be soft and ready and half will be still hard When I've bought avocados from my neighborhood grocer or a street vendor, I've noticed that when they ripen, they often have rotten spots or veins/roots(?). ) begin to protrude from the skin. These Organic Hass Del Monte avocados, on the other hand, are soft and creamy all the way through when ripe, and unlike other sources, I haven't noticed any fibrous veiny stuff growing through them as they ripen.
- br>Updated on 7/6/17 - I've gone over everything again. I had previously ordered these same avocados and always received the same excellent avocados as described in the previous review, but this most recent order was the worst avocados I have ever had. I'm not sure if the good ones had Del Monte stickers or not, but the ones I got this time all had "Mission Organic Peru" stickers on them. Everything about these avocados is both repulsive and perplexing. They don't ripen evenly; half of the avocado ripens early, turning brown, rotten, and sunken in, while the other half remains green, hard, and unripe enough to be crunchy. If that wasn't bad enough, when I cut into the avocado, the skin has rotted away from the flesh in many places, so it just 'comes away' from the flesh, leaving slimy blobs behind - Meanwhile, because it hasn't ripened yet, at least half of the avocado will not come loose from the pit! Only about half of the flesh was edible in the first three that appeared ripe enough to cut into. I got about two bites that weren't brown from the first one, and slightly less than half of the second two were green and edible, with the rest being rotten or crunchy. What kinds of avocados are there, and how can I get Amazon Fresh to send me actual Del Monte avocados like the ones I used to get? br>br>I'll place another order, and if the same substandard product is delivered, I'll ask for a refund.
