Questions & Answers

Is it dehydrated or freeze dried?

Freeze drying is not an option. Dried, plain, and tasty!

Is this made on shared equipment that contains any of the top allergens (wheat, egg, soy, tree nuts, peanuts, dairy, fish, shellfish)?

Hello, we only process dried fruits on our equipment. We are nothing more than fruit.

Is it true that the unsulphered haven't been sulphurized ?

Our dried fruit does not contain any sulfur. There are no additional ingredients in our dried fruit; it is simply fruit.

Is it possible to use these in a water-based infusion bottle?

Infusing water with our dried fruit is a no-brainer. To get the most out of the fruit's essence, we recommend heating up the water first and steeping the fruit for about 10 minutes.

I'm on my third bag now, and I'm planning on ordering more
4/5

After trying their Dried Cherries, I decided to try the Sunrise Fresh Dried Fruit Co. 's Dried California Pears, Unsweetened, No Added Sugar. It turned out to be a fun way for me to mix up my snack options. The words 'Unsweetened' and 'No Sugar Added' in the title were crucial in deciding on this option, as good pears do not require sugar. To avoid the sugars found in more common snack foods, I began eating dried fruit. Mold can grow as a result of this, as well as sugar. br>There are a few things to look for in dried food: br>br>Storage: One of the first reasons for drying food was to save it for later use. I don't keep my dried pears in the fridge, and they've kept for several weeks at room temperature. br>Flavor a little dried fruit, the above-mentioned-mentioned-mentioned-mentioned-ment Cherries, raisins, and prunes, to name a few, all provide a concentrated version of the fresh fruit. Although the dried pears have the same flavor as fresh pears and may be sweeter than some fresh pears, I wouldn't call the flavor intense. Pears have a mild flavor that I enjoy, and these have the flavor that I enjoy in pears. Pears have a grainy texture that is unique to them. br>br> In most over-engineered hard fruit sold as pears in most stores, this texture is almost completely lost. Although I understand that hard fruit bruises more easily than a fresh pear, pears should have a smooth bite rather than compete with apples for crispness. The dried pears, on the other hand, keep some of their original texture. br>br>I'm not a fan of dried pear skins, but the slices are usually so thin that complaining is a waste of time.

It's a little rough around the edges, but it's still a good Pears are a treat I only get once in a while
4/5

I came across these while shopping for dried fruit and had to give them a try. br>br>They're good if you eat them with a pear's texture in mind. br>br>The pears have been sliced, but their skins are still attached. The skin of a regular pear is rough, and the drying process makes it even rougher, making the skins brittle and potentially gritty. I believe that if the pears were peeled before slicing and drying, a much larger number of people would enjoy these dried pear slices. br>br>Eating the fruit itself is a pleasant experience. They aren't as flavorful as a pear that hasn't been dried, but they aren't bad either. I didn't mind them, but I can see how other reviewers thought they were bland. br>br>Honestly, aside from peeling the pears, I don't think there's anything else that could be done to improve the flavor of these pear slices, other than adding sugar. However, the fact that these dried pears had no added sugar was one of the reasons I bought them. I also had no problems with rotten fruit or the like, despite the fact that I followed the instructions and immediately put the pears in the fridge after opening the bag.

Take a chance on it
3/5

I contacted the seller through their website this afternoon because I couldn't reach them through this site. Furthermore, items purchased on this site are neither returnable nor refundable. br>br>Some of the pieces were nice, plump, and delicious. Not me. I've purchased a variety of dried fruits from here over the years, including figs, dates, and apples, and they've all been perfect. br>br>This batch had been overdried to the point where a little more drying would result in hard pear chips similar to banana chips. Oh, and did I mention that the pieces have no discernible flavor, let alone that of a dried pear?.

Trader Joe's is Still the Best We've been looking for something similar to Trader Joe's dried pears since they were discontinued
3/5

These don't get close enough to be useful. It's tougher than Trader Joe's, doesn't have as much flavor, and is overpriced. It's closer than most, but the price is too high to overlook the texture and lackluster flavor.

Enough is enough
4/5

I honestly had no idea what to expect, and they were much more moist than I had anticipated, which was a little unsettling. I expected them to be crispier, like potato chips (crisps to some). While they were enjoyable, I'm not sure I'd want to keep them for very long after they'd been opened. As a result, I quickly devoured them. br>br>I considered dehydrating them or at least attempting to dehydrate them. I wasn't sure if these had been processed in any unusual way to keep them moist, or if they had been chemically treated or something. As a result, I decided not to do it. Who knows these days, regardless of what the label says. Still, these will suffice for simple, quick dosing of extremely high carbs.

It's abrasive and acrimonious! Yikes, my package was misplaced during delivery, but after another resident discovered it, I was able to try this dried fruit
3/5

It reminded me of pear crisps, but it tasted more like pear leather! I couldn't chew it because it was too difficult for me. I didn't care for the flavor, and now I'm stuck with a large bag of pears. Regardless of what you want to call it. Nobody wants to eat it. These weren't for me at all.

It had no resemblance to pears in flavor
3/5

I fully expect that assuming that this type of dried fruit would resemble ripe fruit was a mistake on my part. . . I've never had pears dried in this manner before. All I can say is that the flavor of these dried pears reminded me of raisins or perhaps figs more than anything else. This does not have the same flavor as freeze dried pears. So, if you're looking for a healthy fruit snack that doesn't have a strong pear flavor, this could be the one.

That's fantastic! To be honest, they don't taste like pears at all, but they're delicious! I've had dried pears before that were disgusting because they must have had a lot of added sugar
5/5

Because of that, I was hesitant to try any more dried pears, but I figured these would be worth a shot because they aren't sweetened. They have a soft, chewy texture and a caramelized sweetness. I will be ordering again because it was absolutely fantastic.
