I can tell what's good from what's bad. Life, however, is not without its flaws. Because I am no longer able to drive, I no longer shop at oriental grocery stores. So it became a matter of seeing what I could find on Amazon that sounded interesting. br>br>When I saw a 2 1/2 pound bag (! ), I was ecstatic. I was skeptical when I saw that they were in the same price range as the one pounders. But it piqued my interest enough to read the reviews, which revealed that it was receiving a lot of five-star ratings. I decided to order a bag after reading the reviews. br>br>It's on par with the best candied ginger I've ever tasted. I can eat as much as I want for a reasonable price. So here's yet another five-star review to add to the collection.
I ate some as soon as it arrived, then my husband showed me a warning label on the front that said this is a Thai product and that eating it may expose the consumer to LEAD (which causes birth defects)! I'm furious that this was made available for purchase without any prior notice on the site!! I'd like my money back because this will be thrown out and I've already eaten some of it during my first trimester!.
Overall, I like this candied ginger, but you get a mixed grade product. br>First and foremost, the two and a half pound product has no consistency; some pieces are nicely dried, while others are almost juicy. If you eat one of the moist ones by itself, it tastes strange to me. However, when used in cooking or mixed drinks, the peculiar flavor is eliminated. Fortunately, there aren't many strange-tasting ones in the bag. br>However, it works wonders if your stomach is bothering you. br>The main reason I purchased such a large quantity is that I plan to make ginger beer vin in the near future, and this product should be suitable for that purpose.
Going to the chiropractor, on the other hand, was a big help. The candy is tasty and has a distinct ginger flavor, but it is quite spicy. So, if you have a hard time eating spicy or hot foods, these may not be for you. Aside from that, these appear to be a good buy. br>br>Another thing that perplexes me is that a reviewer showed a lead warning label on the product, but the bag I received has no such label. I'm not sure why the differences exist, but I'll look into it further. The only mention of being made in Malaysia and in a facility that produces food containing soy milk, peanuts, and other similar ingredients is on the bag I received. br>br>I'd buy from them again in a heartbeat.
The following is a fantastic gift idea for the holidays: To avoid a chocolate craving, grab a slice of goodness and put it in your tea. I haven't died from the alleged lead in Thailand ginger, but I'm willing to take a chance because I tried and failed to grow it once. It necessitates the use of a significant amount of water. The slices weren't too thick, there were no chunks, and a few pieces were smaller, but we're talking bulk here, not 1 ounce baggies. Only a few were chewy, leaving fiber residue to spit out, but that's part of the real ginger chewing experience; these aren't gummie bears! br>Re-evaluate one re-evaluate one re-evaluate one new re-evaluate order; Food was spilled into an Amazon bag after a sealed food package was opened. It is not hygienic. Suggestions for more durable packaging to withstand USPS shipping or a switch to UPS are welcome.
I even had a bag sent to my brother in the West. I'm sure he'll be overjoyed with it. I'd give it a ten out of ten rating. It's dripping with water. supple The sugar that fell off is going into my green tea, where it will be put to good use.
Candied ginger is something I've never heard of before. For a party I was throwing, I wanted to recreate Bulla's famous Moscow Mule, and since theirs includes candied ginger as a garnish, I had to have some. This company didn't let me down. They showed up on time and in good condition. The slices are quite large - about a quarter of an inch thick. It should be neither too thick nor too thin. The ginger flavor isn't overpowering, and it's not too sweet. I'd buy them again without a doubt. br>br>And, by the way, my drinks were a big hit! I'd even go so far as to say they were on par with Bulla's!.
Amazon was the source of my second ginger purchase. This brand far outperformed my previous one in terms of thickness and tenderness, which were both excellent and fairly consistent throughout. br>br>Try dipping one edge in melted vanilla almond bark, then letting it cool before serving. Too much bark masks the flavor of ginger, but just the right amount is delicious. br> It's impossible to stay away from them for long.
