Soup with tomatoes and basil from Progresso is my favorite. This is a versatile ingredient that I use in sauces, stews, and other soups because of its balanced taste. The taste may be a bit sweet to some, but when used in other recipes, it adds a nice touch to the end result. In addition, I confess that sometimes I drink right out of the can if I am feeling lazy (after shaking it Having this staple in the pantry is a great idea. I love the price. It tends to be cheaper on Amazon than in the grocery store (except for when it's on sale). I would recommend either of the two varieties however, the low sodium is a little less sweet than the regular version.
I hate it. I'm so over canned soups! This soup is advertised as low sodium, and it is, but it's sweetened with two types of ingredients. Is there a purpose for adding sugar to savory soups? I dislike the taste of it. Despite my best efforts, I had to doctor it six ways before I could eat it. The last time is the last time. This is what I will do.
My money is gone! I want my money back. What a surprise! While I tried to drag the shipping box into my house, the box was so fragile, I had to be careful. To my disgust, all but two of the cans of this Progressive Creamy Soup were crushed when I opened them! Food poisoning isn't something I'd like to risk, so I won't eat this! Having this soup as part of my dinner tonight was on my dinner plans, but I am so disappointed. I really love the soup and I was looking forward to eating some I'm not going to do it now! The money I spent should be returned to me!.
It is too sweet and I get the worst heartburn with it, and I rarely get heartburn. I wish I liked it more, but it is too sweet and I get the bad heartburn. As long as you don't get heartburn, you should be able to enjoy sweet soup!.
It doesn't matter how much sodium you have in your diet. During the winter, I rely a lot on soups, and Progresso's Tomato Basil is my favorite. In general, I prefer the low sodium version, both in terms of health and taste (I've never been a big salt fan). While there is a serving size for two in these cans, this is a hearty serving for one. Not sure about anyone else, but plan on this being a hearty serving for one despite their cans saying they serve two.
I thought this soup was excellent considering it was made with canned tomatoes. A carton of tomato soup is more appealing to me. There is nothing ordinary about this, it's creamy and flavorful, and the basil gives it an extra.
The low sodium in the food makes it safe for us to serve my 90-year-old mother her favorite soup (tomato basil) once a week along with a grilled cheese sandwich. Lunch at the coffee shop is her favorite.
When you have some liquids or bread to eat it with, it is not recommended.
