In my last box, I found 30 containers with a "Best If Used By" tag that was dated more than a year after I bought them! Because I didn't start using this shipment until well over a month after it was purchased, I didn't realize that I had $75 worth of garbage until after I started using it. Sorry, but I also had the same problem with Kitchen Basics No Salt Beef Stock. Make sure you are careful when buying!.

The chicken soup I make often has been enriched with prepared stock that I add to it. When I normally purchase another brand, it was not available, so I thought I'd give this a shot. Although the price was quite reasonable and most reviews were positive, I bought two boxes of the product, only to discover that its flavor is odd almost sour. My recipe almost ruined a delicious pot of soup! I'm not sure if I got a bad batch or not, but I almost spoiled a delicious As a result, I had to buy more chicken and make more homemade stock in order to cover up the taste. My Amazon order of groceries wasn't refunded, so I'm stuck with half of the box and a half of this yucky stuff I like the taste of.

You will get a great flavor without having to spend hours in the kitchen! If I substitute some of the cooking water for the bones from a roasted chicken, I can make a tasty rice if I so desire

The watered down flavor of BROTH is no longer acceptable to you. If you want a robust flavor in your stock, whether it's chicken, beef, or vegetable, a good stock is your best choice. People who have restricted diets because of high blood pressure will enjoy tastier foods if they get the low sodium or no sodium varieties.

You can use this for small batches of rice, quinoa, bulgur, and for braises or stews in the slow cooker. Previously, we could purchase these locally at a couple of small grocery stores, but these are no longer offered instead, we are restricted to the larger size. During shipping, I was concerned about how they would hold up, but they arrived in perfect condition. These come in a very sturdy, small case containing 12 pieces, and showed no signs of damage at all upon arrival. Additionally, the ones we got have an expiration date that is 8 1/2 months from their delivery date. I am very pleased with how that turned out. Those "Kitchen Basics" have a lot less salt than the heavily promoted brand, and they have fantastic flavor, as well. I like it.

Wasn't the packaging weak and did it smell like pineapple sour? It was in my pantry when I retrieved it a few days later and the package had broken open and spilled a lot of liquid

We decided to use it up, but the smell of pineapple was very sour. I cooked some rice in it, thinking the smell would disappear with cooking, but I threw it all out in the end. I didn't like it.

My favorite vegetable broth has always been Kitchen Basics no salt added veggie broth from Wal-Mart I purchased it from Amazon because my local store no longer carries it and there is no alternative. Despite its nutritional benefits, the broth is perfect for soups and other dishes on a Whole Food Plan The fact that I am charged some kind of handling/delivery fee essentially raises the price per quart. I am on the lookout for some alternative sources Perhaps it would be worth it to drive a few minutes to another store.

Below is a link to the recipe I used chicken stock instead of vegetable stock because it says you can use either stock, but I was not pleased with the outcome. It is not always possible to find this seafood stock at the grocery store or only one container will be available. Consequently, I ordered it (no pun intended) when I saw that it was available from Amazon. The Haddock chowder is always a big hit living in southern New Hampshire where you can often find fresh fish and it is easy to get 3 lbs of fish. My niece in San Diego made it with white fish available there, and she said it was the best she had ever tasted. I served it with warm crusty bread and white wine. Instead of salt pork, I use half a pound of bacon that is cut into small pieces. fry it up crisp and then use it as a garnish for The Seafood Stock and Bon Appetit is a must-have for those who like to make a great New England Fish Chowder.

Even though I prefer making my own stock (chicken, vegetable, etc. ), it is nice to have a packaged product available in case I run out. It is one of my favorite Kitchen Basics stocks because of its versatility. I have tried a number of these products and like them all, but this Unsalted Vegetable is my personal favorite. It is really useful for soups - I usually use it for soups The cooler fall and winter seasons up here in the Pacific NW make me make a lot of soups It may also be used as a sauce for pasta, to cook rice, and to cook other grains- A flavorful liquid that allows for reduction without becoming overly salty is great whenever I need it. The 32-inch television I purchased is the one I purchased As well as one of those, one of those makes the ideal batch of soup for me (as I'm This salt-free food has a bright flavor and is lower in sodium.
