There is not enough olive oil in this pesto to make it taste like olive oil. It is another pesto infused with soybean oil. As far as Alessi is concerned, I prefer it. However, Prego's jarred pesto is almost as good as that more expensive refrigerated pesto, which is not as good as it is made out to be. The Prego brand gives you something that you can use for less money and with a longer shelf life so you can keep it around so you can make spontaneous meals. With that other brand, it doesn't last long enough in the fridge for me to just keep it around for when I need it, and it isn't quite good enough for me to use for planning special meals.
