I've gone through two jars of this, and the first time I opened them, they both made a popping sound.
Sodium: 570 mg. 34 gram fat content
I believe this is the same pesto as the "raw basil pesto" on their website; the ingredients are the same, and the olive oil isn't specified, so I'm guessing it's the same EVOO, even though you'd think they'd say so. The basil is identical to that of Ligurian and Genoese. I'm curious as to why evoo isn't used in pesto.
The sodium content of this product is three times higher than what is shown on the label. There is far too much sodium in anyone's diet.

I was looking for a premade pesto that used olive oil instead of the other nasty oils like sunflower or canola that are commonly used. This concludes the discussion. You can also add parmesan cheese if you'd like (yes, please). This is absolutely fantastic! I wish I had purchased a second jar!.
I was hoping for a very exciting jar of basil pesto based on the description. Unfortunately, it's so salty that you can't tell what else is in it. It was a huge disappointment, especially given the price and the fact that it was imported from Italy.
This pesto is made without the use of any animal products. I'm not a fan of pesto with cheese in it. This pesto is made without the use of any animal products. Extremely tasty, albeit a little pricey; however, I'm assuming that if you're paying $10 for pesto, you're not concerned about the cost-- Because the only other options on Fresh contained cheese, and I enjoy a good pesto, I'm willing to pay this much.
This is a fantastic pesto that is both vegan and reasonably priced; I've tried a lot of vegan pestos and this is my favorite; I also like the shape of the jar it comes in. I repurpose jars for pantry storage, and the tall, thin shape is ideal for my needs.
Pesto is a delicious condiment that can be used in a variety of ways. It's great on a baguette with a poached egg for breakfast, and it comes in a glass bottle that keeps well in the fridge. We've purchased several bottles, and the flavor is consistent and always excellent.
The Tomato Basil Pesto from this brand is one of my favorite sauces for anything, so it was a letdown not to enjoy their regular Basil Pesto as much. My only criticism is that it is excessively salty. This will probably taste great if you like salty foods because the basil flavor is fantastic. However, if you're on a low-salt diet like I am, you'll want to use this sparingly and/or combine it with something else. But it's vegan and tastes exactly like (a rather salty) pesto, so well done. It's fantastic to have the option.
I was worried it would go bad because it says to use it within a certain time frame, which is difficult to do unless you eat it all the time, so I'll try freezing it next time to make it last longer. It's extremely difficult to come across high-quality dairy-free products, and this is one of them.
The price is a bit high, and the flavor isn't particularly memorable - Buying a container of fresh, chilled pesto at the store is much more flavorful. Fresh ones can be frozen and kept as a staple in place of jarred ones. If you find a good brand, frozen and thawed still tastes better, in my opinion.
