I have never tried many brands of pesto, but after one taste, I won't need Due to my Covid situation, I was unable to travel to Anchorage or Costco, so I chose to order this from I just don't think it's up to par! As opposed to basil, it tastes more like it was made from grass.
Normally I would make my own basil pesto since I had my own basil plant. However, my basil plant died due to the cold weather. My craving for basil pesto led me to buy this pesto and give a taste to it, but it tasted like crushed up pickles and left me There's no flavor of the basil at all.
Spilled oil through the bubble wrap and the jar as well as into and through the box after it came open. It left a stain on the washcloth after I washed my hands with soap after I got enough of the substance on me to know it wasn't right. Not only am I suspicious of the authenticity of this product, but also of the health precautions being taken. It caused me a headache and a lot of disappointment.
The pesto I bought from this brand was one of the better tasting brands in a jar and it was also a good price. I divided the large jar between 2 smaller ones and froze the one I wasn't ready to use.
There is a delicious, thick, nutty taste to it. Your dish is ready when you add your Parmesan cheese. Especially good on fish, not just pasta. Cost-effectiveness is also a major advantage of this size. So if you are making pesto from scratch, this national brand is the way to go.
From what I have seen, this is an extremely good price compared to other products on Amazon. I will certainly be back to buy more.
The fact that this stuff is so versatile is amazing! I love using it on chicken, salmon, and veggies!.
