They could be classified as dill pickles, in my opinion. They are, however, more naturally flavored with mustard seed, dill weed, and onions, giving them a milder dill flavor with a hint of onion flavor to me.

The flavor of these cornichons is incredible. One of the jars that I ordered has already been consumed. I've only ever seen them in one grocery store in my neighborhood, and only at certain times of the year. These have a thin skin and a crunchy texture without being mushy. It is a reasonable price. The pickle lifter that came with the jar was an added bonus.
I adore these pickles, which go well with sandwiches, antipasto plates, and buttered sourdough bread slices. yum!.
