Honestly, Mrs. Ball's chutney is the best chutney on the planet in my opinion. My friends have also loved this set and recommended it to me. The peach is our favorite. Original is a close second. Chutney is one of the best condiments we recommend. It is a staple in all south african homes for curry and sausage bread rolls or for bbq.
This was a father's day gift I bought based on the delicious fried egg chili chutney sandwich from Red Dwarf. There was no way I could have imagined it would be so amazing! The two-packs that I bought made up for the one pack that I didn't have. This is amazing. There aren't enough positive things to say about this.
I was informed one evening that Mrs. Ball's chutney is a condiment by my host. A drink is not what it seems! I think he wanted me to slow down on it a little. The incident did not occur! The spicy chutney is sure to please those who like a pungent taste.
Back in the day, when we were visiting England, I found out about Mrs. Ball's. As soon as I saw it, I fell in love. There was only one bottle of wine left in my luggage. There was no internet during that time Since there was no more Internet to be had, there was nothing more to do. It's back in my hands now! I love this chutney, as it is a rather hot and smooth chutney in comparison with other brands such as Major Grey's (what I consider a very good chutney but Tastes great, not too heavy on the spices like cloves that sometimes leave a tinny aftertaste, but with enough heat to make you take notice. If you're new to chutney and like things a bit spicy, definitely The sauce is not only excellent with curries, but also a fabulous spread with cream cheese, and, thinned down with juice, it makes a delicious baste for a pork roast. I highly recommend this sauce.
Balls Chutney for the first time. Perhaps it is the nostalgia, but after packing a few to take home, I am now spoiled for them and can't live without them. The sauces are amazing on meats (especially in sandwiches) and take on a distinct flavor on their own as well. My favorite thing about this snack is its flavor and the slight bite added by the hot variety. I'm totally devoted to it now, and nothing else works on the same level. Any South African who grew up in South Africa understands the love that Mrs. Balls Chutney engenders. Twenty years in the USA and I have tried many chutneys, including some at local Indian grocery stores and homemade ones. I know there are many varieties out there. You can find made-to-order varieties at specialty My favorite brand of chutney tastes unique and cannot be duplicated. I know of many recipes that incorporate this chutney into a wonderful marinade or sauce for chicken dishes. There are a number of recipes on the internet and I was delighted to discover that Amazon had listed this extraordinary product. I bought six bottles and I will go straight to Amazon to order more once they are gone. I give both the Peach and Regular varieties to all of my children, even those born in the United States. I would like to thank Amazon for their service.
My first encounter with this product was at a farmers market in Sherman Oaks, and I was disappointed to find the market had moved months later when I returned for another bottle. In order to find another bottle to purchase, I searched all the local markets as well as the Internet. Finding the exact same product on Amazon for about the same price I paid at the local farmers market was an amazing find for me. I like to add just a little bit of this sauce to my grilled chicken or shrimp when I serve them with a salad. A perfect combination of heat and sweetness that gives the food a delicious.
We've tried others, but Mrs Balls Peach Chutney is the best. Its perfect combination of sweetness and tang is exactly what my husband and I are looking for to add some life to our It needs just that little extra something to make it from very good to excellent, even when it is made with curry! There is no need to add any sugar to this chutney. Our experiences with other peach chutneys have been disappointing at best, even bitter at worst.
