Questions & Answers
There are four ingredients we use Hyssop, sesame seeds, sucmac, olive oil, salt. The ingredients are listed according to how much of each ingredient we use. With regards to the declaration that may contain traces of other ingredients, it is a mandatory claim that we must use because we do process other products and like any manufacturer, cross contamination is possible. For people who are allergic to any of these ingredients, even particulate matter can have an impact.
It reads in a blurb about one product or another (I have bought several products over the years) that everything is grown on their own farms, but I'm not sure where those farms are located
It is a pleasure to answer Since the FDA reserves the right to round calculations, there are no amounts per serving. In our recipe, we only use a tiny amount of salt, which we use because it is part of the traditional recipe. To give you an idea, we use about 0.04% salt. 5% salt in our blend, so if you used a teaspoon of our blend, you would use about 0.1 teaspoon of salt. Hope this helps. It is made up of 5% salt.
All of those are never used by us. Growing spices in small batches and not storing them for long periods of time is our practice.

Similarly to so many foods, zatar in its original form has been dilute and distorted in order to make it popular. As a result of the ingredients in this mix, it has been used as a spice to add flavor and to spice up oils and dishes for thousands of years. Unfortunately, the original taste of Zatar was lost in that effort to appease the masses. Most, if not all, zatar mixes available now bear little resemblance to the original mixture. In spite of this, this product uses fresh, original ingredients to adhere to the original. Flavor and texture make it a pleasure to eat. As soon as I tasted this product, I felt the earthiness and earthy flavor of the mixture. Spicy, earthy, and very concentrated (like all really good fresh herb and spice blends). As a result of the freshness of the ingredients, I use about half as much as I would with another product. That is more than enough to offset the difference in price. I will only purchase and use this Zatar mix in the future, and I'm grateful that its makers have developed such an outstanding product. Do not hesitate to buy this wonderful zatar seasoning and enjoy its tasty taste.
My favorite zaatar is this one! This can be an issue when trying to find a store that sells it in the middle east. In the past, I was skeptical to order from the internet, but I gave it a try one day and it was great! I grew up in Lebanon and this Zaatar is just like the fresh zaatar I ate every morning for breakfast. It's fresh and not dried out like a lot of the greenish yellow zaatar I've purchased in middle eastern grocery stores in Orange County. The freshness and authenticity are what I like about it! The product will definitely make an appearance more often in my house!.
On tasting the Product, it did not taste the same as before. The taste was the same and it dissolved too quickly in my mouth when I tried it on a teaspoon. I realized what was so salty by then, and that was why the consistency was different. As a filler, additional salt appears to have been added to the ingredients, resulting in a change of taste. Moreover, the amount of sesame, sumac, and hyssop was lower. The taste of the product was rather bland, with lots of salt.
Perhaps this can be improved, I've already used up 3 ounces of Zaatar, and this should not be happening so quickly. It was an absolute waste of money, and I was extremely disappointed.
This brand should not be used by those with food allergies or sensitivities. The Spice Way is selling this package of Za'atar spice. Known for their natural ingredients and other attributes, The Spice Way advertises on Amazon Declares that there are no artificial ingredients in their Za'atar other than spices, olive oil, and salt. Upon opening my Amazon package, though, I saw a warning on the tacky plastic bag of spices that said There is a possibility that this product contains wheat, peanuts, tree nuts, and soybeans. I suffer from severe soy & gluten allergies In light of my walnut allergy, I don't want to speculate that this company will be committed to good manufacturing practices and will thoroughly clean machinery between recipe runs, as other natural food makers seem to claim on their labels, with their disclaimers, all of which are readily available. It makes you feel cheated!.
I love it so much. had planned to have some curried veggies with my bread, but had just three pieces of bread due to that many great things to eat! My local Kroger no longer carries Za'atar, so I went for this kind instead. I had been buying Za'atar from Kroger for a while (with thyme), but they stopped selling it in my area. That was a great decision! I also found this to be far less salty than the kinds I had been buying. I wish I could have added a picture of my naan, but I don't think that option is available. / I thought it would be nice to add a picture of the naan, but you don't seem to have it here.
In addition to being used almost universally in Eastern dishes, it can be used as an added layer of flavor in some of my regular meals, such as lentil soups or chicken with labneh. After ordering Smoked Paprika from this company, I was blown away by how delicious and fresh it was! So I decided to give this brand a try! I was not disappointed with this Za'atar! There is a strong aroma of fresh spices and a moistness that is different from the dried Za'atar found in the local stores. There is a lot of seriousness about the spices this company makes, and I am serious about food too! You did a great.
Zaatar is my favorite Za'atar because of the earthy flavor and scent. It is immediately apparent that the package is different when you open it. While I bought another spice brand sometime back due to its high ratings and my desire to try it, I also purchased this one recently. Since I did not like that particular brand, it has been on my shelf for a while. When I saw Za'atar being used in so many recipes, I decided to find out more about it and came across The Spice Way. When I saw the information about the hyssop, I immediately thought of trying it. Having read the description, I was intrigued. A quick salad of tomatoes, microgreens, Za'atar, and really good oil sounded so wonderful that I had to try it right away. The flavor of the Za'atar was the earthy side I was looking for, and it was delicious. You won't be able to put this one on a.
It seems that these folks need to go back to the drawing board when it comes to quality control and quality assurance. Despite another person reporting a stone in their package, I tried this spice. I tasted sand or grit when I first took a bite of the spice just to see how it tastes. Rather than using the entire package, I had to get rid of it. Taking note of the lesson.
