The leaves of McCormick thyme have been dried. To keep the plant's rich color, piney aroma, and earthy flavor, the plant's tiny leaves—a quarter inch at most—must be carefully harvested, cleaned, dried, and milled. The method is a trade secret. Thyme was once a symbol of bravery and courage in the ancient world. To say a Greek warrior smelled of thyme, for example, was one of the highest compliments one could pay. Thyme was also used to combat nightmares during the Middle Ages. Today, as one of our most popular herbs, our pure thyme takes pride of place in the kitchen. ~ Erica

In our home, we use a lot of thyme. It can be used as an inhalant as well as a food. Essential oils found in thyme are very good for your health. My wife has been putting it in a bowl of nearly boiling water while we stand over it. We just breathe in the vapors while wearing towels over our heads. It expands your lungs and airways like nothing else you've tried before. I get bronchitis almost every year as a result of using a CPAP machine, and the bronchitis is drastically reduced as a result of this. br>br>On the food front, this is a crucial herb. We can use it for a variety of things, and this McCormick culinary thyme is especially fragrant. We like it a lot and think it's a great value for the money, so we gave it five stars.
I weighed my bottle because it was only three-quarters full, and it came in at four pounds. Instead of 6, you should use 7 ounces. Even after settlement, that's a big difference. I was also concerned because I couldn't find an expiration date on the bottle. All of my other bottles have a date on them. I attempted to return it, but was told it could not be done. I'm going to throw it out and won't be buying it again.
Dried thyme is a popular seasoning for a variety of savory dishes, but the small bottles at the grocery store are prohibitively expensive in the quantities that I use. This larger food service size comes at an excellent price and is extremely fresh. There are no bug parts in it, and there aren't many tough stems or weeds. It's something I'll repurchase.
It was exactly what I expected when I got my first thyme container. Then I bought the second one, which was overflowing with tough stems. Some quality control work is required for the extraction of thyme leaves. The stems get stuck between your teeth and make chewing unpleasant.
I had thyme but had recently suffered from pneumonia. My doctor advised me to take cough suppressants that are available over the counter. which I did UNTIL I figured it out - There is a link between those drugs and memory loss - SO - Cough suppressants that are "natural" - Thyme 'tea,' like ginger, was discovered to be a natural cough suppressant. SO - I used about half of this to make an all-natural cough suppressant called 'thyme tea'!.
None of their spices have ever let me down. I expect to like their culinary line because it is more consistent for consumers than the retail store line. I will continue to purchase McCormick culinary products and would recommend them to others.
When I first opened the Thyme container, the fresh leaves gave off a wonderful aroma. I liked the flavor, and it's a great product with a fair price for what you get. Dried herbs last a long time, and if you're worried about storing them, they can be packaged and frozen for a long time, allowing you to use smaller amounts at a time. I'm very pleased with this product and would recommend it.
These are fantastic! I use it to make homemade bread and soups, and it's delicious and light. The static inside the container is a little unsettling because the thyme leaves appear to be animated at times, but it's a great deal for fresh herb, so what the heck!.
