It's a regular coarse grind, which is the most common type found in stores. Fine ground sumac is my personal preference, but I believe it is only available in small batches in local towns.
We were instantly enamored with the flavor, having previously purchased hummus from a store and enjoyed it with dishes at Middle Eastern restaurants. We had no idea what that reddish spice that had been lightly sprinkled on the hummus was. I'm glad I bought it from you guys now that we know who it came from. This week, I made some homemade hummus and topped it with a generous amount of sesame seeds. I'm really enjoying it. I'm going to try it out on some other dishes. Please accept my heartfelt gratitude.
I used this in my cooking after purchasing it, at first a small amount, then more and more, but it made no difference in my cooking. According to this person, he or she has no good taste. No matter how much I put in, it didn't improve the taste of the food. So now I'm stuck with this package and have no idea what to do.
Sumac tea is fantastic, and I've become addicted to it. Normally, 1 tbl spoon will color 2 cups of cold water a dark red color and give it a pleasant sour flavor. When compared to the same amount of sumac in one cup of water, this product had no flavor or color. I compared it to a dryer sumac and found that the flavor is lacking in this product. I was intrigued by the low price of this sumac.
I was hesitant to purchase a spice online, but this one was well-packaged and contained fresh ingredients. The sumac's quality impressed me, and the price here is comparable to what I saw at a local Turkish market. Repurchase is something I'd do.
I like the flavor and everything about it, but there was one problem with the package: the sumac bag had a hole in it, and the shipping box was coated with sumac on the inside. The sumac is fine; it's the packaging that's the issue.
This was a good amount of Sumac for the price, with a delicious flavor that I would order again.
My wife and I began preparing Mediterranean dishes, and one of the recipes called for sumac. We'd never had sumac before, but it appeared to be very fresh and gave the meal a nice flavor. We did pour the seasoning out of the container it came in and put it in a jar to keep the moisture in for longer storage, as we expect it to take some time to go through it all.
