Product Description

Sumac is a Middle Eastern shrub that produces deep red berries that are dried and ground into a coarse powder. Until the Romans introduced lemons to the area, the spice was widely used in Europe to add tartness to a variety of dishes.
Sumac is a common and important spice in Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisine. It's used in a variety of dishes, including dry rubs, marinades, and salad dressings. However, the best way to use it is to sprinkle it on top of food right before serving.
It goes well with vegetables, grilled lamb, chicken, and fish, among other things. Sumac is one of the main ingredients in the spice blend za'atar, and it's used to top fattoush salads as well as dips like hummus.
"Eat Well Premium Foods" offers delicious and healthy spices, herbs, and herbal teas.

Questions & Answers

Why does the package literature state that it is high in vitamin C? What do the nution facts say about vitamin C then?

It's probably made of sumac berries, in my opinion. Vitamin C is abundant in nearly all types of berries.

Is there a saltiness to it? Is there any salt in it?

Yes. The sodium content of 77mg per Tablespoon in the nutritional information is equal to 0. 5% content indicates that it has been added intentionally and consistently. The product label and advertising never says it is 100% pure, only that it is All Natural. This tastes salty to me, and it becomes even saltier when made into tea.

Is it necessary for me to keep it refrigerated?

No, you don't have to keep this spice in the fridge. For everyday use, I put some sumac in a spice bottle on my spice rack, and when the spice bottle runs out, I refill it from the original airtight closable container.

What are some of your favorite ways to use sumac? What types of dishes does it go well with?

GOOD WORK! I'm new to sumac, and let me tell you, just like Red Hots, I put it on everything! Boiled eggs, salad, pork belly, and fried green beans are all on the menu
5/5

This is one of my favorite things. It's something I can't seem to get enough of! Before you buy it, keep in mind that it will be slightly damp when you open it; this is normal. It's still a fantastic piece of work. There isn't a hint of sourness! It tastes like a lemony tamarind, but there's no sweetness to it. I've tried it with precooked rice, and it adds a depth of flavor that I can't get enough of. Yup! With the MANY Cholulas, salt, and pepper, this sucker has a permanent spot on the table.

Sumac acts as a salt substitute and enhances flavor when you need to cut back on salt
5/5

I recently discovered this amazing spice and fell in love with its tangy lemony flavor, which is more balanced and less tart than lemon juice. It goes great on salads (I've included a couple of photos), with any avocado, cauliflower, or beans recipe, and so much more. You can cook with it or add it at the end; the color is lovely, and it makes a lovely presentation for any meal. This spice has a lot of health benefits as well. Make sure you've done your homework and don't be afraid to place an order! This seller's product is of excellent quality, and I've already placed another order:.

Moreover, the packaging is ideal for keeping the spice fresh for an extended period of time
5/5

I ordered this to use in a Turkish recipe that called for it. Sumac was the first time I'd tried it. It added bright, sour notes to the dish (sort of like a quick pickled onion thing), making it unique and exotic. You can't beat the price, and the packaging keeps the spice fresh for a long time.

It's delicious! Tart, floral, and a lovely dark red color
5/5

Sumac is a pepper that tastes similar to paprika. It has no flavor and is only good as a garnish if it is old. It adds depth of flavor and fragrance to the dish if it's fresh. In our home, we prepare a lot of Ethiopian, North African, Greek, and Persian dishes. I had previously purchased sumac from a local Ethiopian market, and it had met my expectations, but this sumac exceeded them. Dark burgundy in color, fragrant, tart, and flavorful It was fantastic in beirbier and delectable on koobideh with zerisk pollo. When it comes back in stock, I will definitely order it again.

Sumac was the first time eating healthy tasted so good! When I was looking for the most antioxidant-rich spices on the internet, I was surprised to learn that Red Samac, which is used in many Middle Eastern recipes, was at the top of the list
5/5

One step ahead of the competition. As a result, I went to Amazon and ordered some. It adds a wonderful zing to any dish that I've tried it with. I was looking through the first order when I came across this brand. It was very fresh and moist when I received it. tasty. In addition, at around $1 per ounce, it is less expensive than other brands. Almost every meal includes it. meat, fish, shrimp, and eggs are some of the foods that can be found in a restaurant even fruits and vegetables.

Seasoning that is delicious
5/5

We adore Middle Eastern and South Asian cuisine. Sumac, like paprika or pepper, is a delicious spice that is frequently sprinkled on top of a dish. My wife recently prepared chicken shawarma for a dinner party. We ordered some fresh sumac from Eat Well Premium Food, and it arrived on time, safely packaged, and the aroma filled the room when we opened it. It was truly a mouth-watering experience. This is a mouth-watering situation. We gave it to a group of our friends to eat. White people from North America. They were enthralled by the color and taste. Sumac has a citrusy flavor rather than being spicy. You should definitely give it a try the next time you eat Lebanese, Pakistani, Syrian, or Turkish cuisine. Yum! We don't know how long the flavor will last, but the ziplock packaging will help keep it fresh. Enjoy!.

Just OK

This sumac isn't as good as the sumac I bought in Amman, Jordan, from Safeway. It's a little gritty, and about half of the time I eat it, I have a coughing fit from the gritty sumac after about 10 minutes.

Sumac was my first time trying it, and I was not disappointed, though I wish I could have purchased it in a smaller quantity
4/5

I've never tried sumac before, so I can't compare the flavor to others, but I like it okay; it's one of the spices I'm glad to have in my large spice collection, so I'm not disappointed, but I wish I could've gotten it in a smaller quantity (without having to pay more for it lol), but from what I could tell, any smaller size, like a regular spice jar, was even more expensive. I filled a spice jar and still have most of the bag left over, which I don't think I'll be able to use before it spoils.
