I'm not sure what I'm saying. This, however, was amazing. The color is vibrant, and the flavor is tangy and lemony. Love it. I'd suggest it.

Sadaf is located in the heart of La Jolla's downtown district. Soon after, a friend advised me not to eat there. Instead, I had to cross the street to Khatoon. What I noticed was that both restaurants had an unlabeled shaker of purplish brown spice on the table. Sadaf was one of the first people I met. It tastes great. My favorite way to use it is to shake it over basmati rice; it doesn't even require butter, and I can't get enough of it. The ground meat is the second thing I've used it for. Burgers, meatballs, and kabobs are just a few of the dishes available. It gives it a unique kick, a complex flavor that falls somewhere between bitter and sweet and is simply addictive; I'd call it savory, but it really hits the spot.
I eat Sumak every day (without sodium), so I know how it should taste. This one, however, is defiantly tasteless, which I believe is due to the fact that half of it is the sumak tasteless shells, which are also sharp and difficult to digest; I also see many damp lumps of sumac, which could indicate mold; and finally, the box is only about 34% full.
One of the negative reviews worried me a little. This jar's contents reeked of freshness and had a lot of flavor. I also don't have any complaints about the color or texture. I would purchase this item again. Because I've been using sumac a lot lately, I think this will become a regular purchase.
I use it instead of salt. It enhances the flavor of my dishes. It's what I use to replace the salt that I'm not allowed to have.

This was purchased to add tang and fruitiness to my rubs, and it works wonderfully! It has a citrusy scent to it.
That's something you won't find in your typical supermarket. It has a refreshing tartness to it. I occasionally combine it with a salt blend I already had on hand.
