Karo syrup and ground poppy seeds.
Prune pie filling is something I haven't tried yet. I use the poppy seed pie filling because it's delicious; the only issue I have is running out during the holidays, so I stock up ahead of time.

I'm not entirely sure. My best guess is that it's to protect the manufacturer from lawsuits if someone gets sick after using this product; there are no ingredients in it that I can see that could cause problems if not used promptly. I only buy it when I know I'll be using it right away.

It was as if someone dumped the entire world's supply of Solo poppy seed filling cans down the stairwell! I'm relieved to discover that the entire six pack hasn't been dented! I'm excited to try out some new recipes.
Since 1847, the SOLO Company has been producing high-quality canned baking fillings: almond, prune, apricot, plum, cherry, poppyseed raspberry jam My grandmother used to make a poppyseed cake that was both delicious and dense, and she always used SOLO canned poppyseed. This cake's recipe can be found on the inside of the outside can label. I've been making this poppyseed cake for more than 50 years, and SOLO has consistently delivered a high-quality product throughout that time.
To make two poppyseed rolls, you'll need just the right amount. This is a must-make for Christmas, any other holiday, or simply because. I don't want to make the poppyseed filling myself, so this will save me time. Thankfully, it isn't overly sweet. You could, however, add a little more sugar to taste, as well as nuts or citrus, if desired. My son enjoys it just the way it is, in a yeast dough roll. In Makowiec, I only use it baked this way!.
The delivery was excellent; I received my products ahead of schedule; however, this was my first experience with this product, and I was very disappointed. The poppy had not been ground at all! It's nothing more than whole poppy seeds in a thick, sticky sauce. syrup that is slimy Sweet to the point of nausea. It may work well in some recipes, but it is definitely not suitable for Hungarian poppy seed rolls. Because I didn't have any other options, I spiced it up and used it anyway, but next time I'll buy raw poppy seeds and grind them myself, as well as prepare the filling myself. That's what happens when you try to save money.
I knew, however, that I had misread the label and that I was stuck with this item. So I went online and looked up recipes for poppy seed gel pastry. It was a hit with a large crowd at an event where I served it. My mistake yielded a fantastic outcome!.
My family has been using this product for quite some time. One of my mother's "go-to" recipes was the Poppy Seed Cake (recipe on the label). to" desserts I needed more cans than my local grocery store had, so I ordered them online; the almond filling from the same company is also excellent.
Every Christmas eve and on the Saturday before Easter, I make Kolocki, a Slovic bread roll. It has been a family tradition for three generations in my family. Solo poppy seed filling is the only brand I use. The only issue is that, despite the fact that Solo manufactures the poppy seed filling, they have allowed other companies to sell it to consumers, raising the price of poppy seed cans.
However, there was a problem with shipping. br>br> The cans were not well cushioned, and two of them had dents, one of which was quite severe.
