The ginger in this package is almost identical to any dried ginger I've purchased online, and it's certainly fresher than any ginger I've bought from a supermarket. A spice that is exposed to air, heat, light, etc. loses its flavor very quickly, especially ground spices like ginger and cinnamon. The packaging was good owing to its freshness, and the item arrived with minimal flavor loss as a result. The product is a nice product that tastes hot and not bitter and generally seems to be a pleasant experience, but the product description indicates that it is made in the United States.
