I was blown away the first time I ordered Utsho Suneli (Fenugreek blue), as seen in the second photo. Sharen Sal, a Bulgarian salt blend, is one of the things I make with it. In all my 45 years of cooking regional cuisine, this fenugreek made the best seasoning I've ever made/tasted; however, the second time I ordered this product, I received a fake that not only had no aroma at all, but also had the most awful bitter taste of any "so called" spice I've ever tasted. So I went looking for the right product again and thought I'd found it; the first picture is correct, so I ordered three this time and still got the wrong stuff. Take a look at the photo on the left; Is there a similarity in appearance? This fake product is the worst, and this vendor or Amazon is ripping people off by promising the real thing with the right photo and then sending them this sham. Doesn't deserve a star, but one is the minimum.
Let me start by saying that the spices sold by this importer are among the freshest and highest-quality species I've ever purchased outside of Georgia. br>br>However, while the dried marigold (Imeretian saffron) I bought was carefully labeled as 50g, plus or minus 5g, the blue fenugreek, of which I bought four packets, did not come with that caveat, and it never occurred to me that they would be consistently 3g-plus. Per packet, there is a 6g shortfall. I was making a large batch of red adjika salt and needed 200g of blue fenugreek to do so. After carefully opening and emptying the packets, I discovered that I was 14 grams short (see photo). While this isn't the end of the world for my adjika, I am annoyed and disappointed that the weight on the packets was misrepresented. It's only a small amount per packet, but it adds up quickly.
Well, I'm not going to buy it again!.
The first version of the product was fantastic. They've now replaced it with the "Lucky" brand, which is nothing more than a tasteless powder with no scent.
It comes highly recommended!.
Stores are hard to come by. I placed an order here, and the product is of excellent quality. Thank you very much.
👍.
I'll be back to place more orders!.
