YES. There are no nuts or peanuts in it.
It is not the location of cultivation that distinguishes it as French. It depends on the plant variety; for example, with tomatoes, you can get a "better boy" or a "mortgage lifter." The same can be said for tarragon. There are a variety of them. The original and best is "french," while the "copycat" is "mexican," which has a much milder scent and flavor and is easier to grow. Every spring, I can get the "french" plant and grow it in my herb garden in Virginia. California, Turkey, and other states, I'm sure, can do the same.
It should have a fenugreek-like aroma to it. a herb with a medium potency To release the aroma, take a small amount in your hands and rub it between your palms. It's been a year since I bought mine, and it still smells great.
It is manufactured in Turkey and packaged in the United States of America.

I make a lot of Indian food, and I read somewhere that omitting this ingredient from a dish would drastically reduce the overall flavor. That's exactly right. I'm not sure what you could use to get a flavor similar to this. I really like the flavor. br>br>I also read that a freshly opened bag of these leaves should smell like maple syrup. These unquestionably do. They arrived with a production date just a few weeks before my purchase and an expiration date of one year. These will last a long time thanks to the large bag.
br>br>This bag is a fantastic value. It's tarragon that has been dried. It's in large chunks because it's not ground or chopped - It's simple to chop (I use a small electric chopper - see below). Because it's dried, it's difficult to chop with a knife). br>br>In my chicken salad (which is delicious! ), I use tarragon. One of my husband's favorite foods is chicken salad, so I make a lot of it. The tiny jars that hold less than a half ounce (and cost almost as much as this large bag! ) are quickly depleted in this town! [Here's a hint: I chop some, put it in an empty glass container, and use it until it's gone, then chop some more and repeat the process. br>br>Tarragon is a flavorful herb that goes well with a variety of foods. It has a licorice-like flavor (note - this is a very mild licorice flavor). Licorice is something that I despise. Tarragon, on the other hand, is a mild herb that I enjoy. What a strange coincidence! This herb is one of my favorites. It's one-of-a-kind and versatile, and I use it in almost every situation. This is a fantastic deal, but you'll have to sort through a lot of tough stems. The small stems will grind up, but not the large stems.
I adore dried mint, and this particular batch is of excellent quality. I purchased it to make dough, a traditional Middle Eastern beverage. To make it, follow these steps: Fill a cup about 1/3 full with plain yogurt, crush about a teaspoon of dried mint in your fingers, and add it to the cup. Fill the cup about 2/3 full with water and a dash of salt (I prefer pink Himalayan sea salt and a lot of it), and mix everything well. This is a popular Iranian drink that would be incomplete without the addition of mint.
I've tried this product and was pleasantly surprised by the low price, though it lacks the subtle quality I was hoping for. The first thing I noticed was that it was of harvest quality, as it contained twigs and stems as well as some leafy material that was clearly not tarragon, and I am fairly certain I threw away some dust or dirt at the bottom of the pile; the scent is overpowering, and the only way I can account for the difference is that when I was gardening, I attempted to grow Tarragon and discovered that if you grew it from seeds, the source would be from India, as true French Now that I've read the other reviews, I don't think Tarragon tastes like licorice, and the Maple thing has me even more perplexed. THIS Tarragon does not appeal to me in terms of smell or flavor. I've used it a few times now, and it adds an unpleasant, overpowering flavor to the dish that I don't associate with Tarragon. Overall, I think this is a good buy because it's presumably Tarragon, and while it's not the finished product you'd find in the supermarket, it's also not $8 for a third of an ounce. I based my flavor and value ratings on my personal opinion, and because this was a poor value for me and caused me to throw away whatever I cooked with it, I understand that people's tastes differ. Others have clearly been pleased with this product, but if you understand the term "supertaster," you may find my experience to be valuable.
) This bag is a LOT bigger than I anticipated for 4 ounces of tarragon. The bag is roughly the same size as a quart of milk in terms of physical dimensions. I was actually IN THE GROCERY STORE, looking for tarragon (the prices were ridiculously high for such a small amount!). ) so I immediately pulled out my phone to check Amazon's prices and purchased it there and then. I'm keeping my old empty jar and filling it with this. I'm looking forward to giving it a try. It smells delicious and appears to have a pleasant flavor, but I have yet to try it. But it'll take a long time for me to exhaust it! Thank you, seller, for providing such a good deal. I'll update my post once I've given it a try.
Tarragon is used in sauteed vegetables, soups, salads, and rice pilaf, among other things. It's one of my favorite places to visit. I've been looking for it since I moved to Hawaii, but haven't been able to find it. When I first got this bag, I realized I wouldn't use it in two years (the expiration date), but that's okay because it was still a great deal, so I'll give half to my neighbor. My only disappointment is that the herb has already lost a lot of its vibrant green color and now appears to be more olive green, so I'm not sure how fresh it is. Despite the fact that it is labeled as Premium Quality, it contains a significant amount of stems and sticks. However, I believe it to be a good value for the money. I haven't cooked with it yet, so I can't say how potent it is, but I did sample it straight from the bag and found it to be tasty.
I actually use a lot of this every summer because I love it in chicken salad, so finding it online was my only option for getting more. br>br>It has a great flavor and comes in a resealable bag, which is a plus! br>br>I am very pleased with my purchase!.
